If anyone had known the scores are wrong, and kept quiet about it in order to take advantage in this tournament, I would consider that very bad sportsmanship!

I'm not saying anybody did.

But this situation is like going to buy food in a supermarket, and when you get home you realise that all your food is rotten, and that you were mislead by the false expiry date on the package.

- All day 1 picks should be cancelled.
- But it is up to the manager whether participants are to select a full 13 picks from the remaining matches, or whether the number is reduced to perhaps 8 or 9.

Either way, the playing field for all participants should be a fair one.

Re: PAW ATP Managers Thread

Hm, strangely enough I didn't even notice it until I saw this thread. I didn't see scoring points that were out of the ordinary, most were between 7 and 14, so that's allright. I only thought Monaco vs Montanes was wrong, but after checking I found out Montanes is indeed ranked higher, which was somewhat surprising for me. I also missed scores for qualifiers, but I didn't have time to calculate them and figured it's the same for everyone so who cares.

I think we'll have to cancel all picks with wrong scoring points and start over. However this means all round 1 picks will have to be cancelled (some people pick all round 1 picks on Monday and don't check back until Wednesday). As a result we'll only have 15 matches left in the tournament, so I'd say max 8 picks.

Cervantes

Actually, Montanes vs Monaco was the only match on Monday in which the score was right!

I took a closer look at the picks, and it turned out there were 5 matches affected by the mistake on Monday. Of the 8 matches played, one involved a LL and there was no score for the revised match, in one match the score was posted after it started so no one picked it, and in one match the score was right.
In one other match, the score was posted shortly before it was played, and only one player managed to pick it. This match has produced the biggest upset of the day, and even if we use the correct score it's a 30-something points match.

After further consideration, I think the best thing to do is to cancel the entire first round and re-start the tournament from the 2nd round.

Re: PAW ATP Managers Thread

I would like to have a go at managing one of the PAW events and what's the correct formula to calculate the scores.

All I do know is that the higher ranked player should have the lower number, except when they are of very similar position and have the whole 10-10 thing.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Once I have a few goes at getting the formula right.

I'd like to have a go at managing Buenos Aires.

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".
