Re: David In Monte Carlo

I have to, he seems very motivated. Besides, clay is not that hard on his ankle...

Re: David In Monte Carlo

He´s vey motivated and he has a great board: e wins over mantilla and then he plays with santoro or dent! Santoro´s very experient and phisically very good! Dent isn`t very good at clay! David will win against one of them!

Força David! Portugal está contigo e eu também!

I like Mantilla too, and they both need the victory, because Feliz has to defend the Italian Open soon.

this sucks..

play a great match Felix and Dave !!
Totally agree it's very hard as I like them both and I am not sure who to go for.

Mantilla won the last 2 times they played and he could easily frustrate David, though that excellent performance against Hrbaty must have helped his confidence for sure, though Felix is a very different player who won't hit as hard or miss as much as Hrbaty.

Re: David In Monte Carlo

David won 6-0, 5-7, 7-6

David was down 0-3 in the third, he fought back so well.

To beat Felix on clay in a tough 3 set match after being injured is a brilliant result!

Re: David In Monte Carlo

Well, if we suffered the heart attack from David's match, Rosie's heart must stop beating for quite a long time!! Just think of 0-3 of the third set. But it is worth!! I think I like heart attack only if David wins it

Re: David In Monte Carlo

OK - quick match report for those who have asked. The first set was tremendous - well for me anyway, - maybe not for Felix fans!!!! David was on fire and moving well and I was really enjoying myself. He started the 2nd set well but Felix definately upped his level - it became a very close and good match, and you could see that David was getting tired. When he served for the match at 5-4 I just had this feeling he was going to tense up and lose his serve and, of course, that was exactly what he did and went on to lose that set 5-7. As for the final set - a nightmare...... David looked so tired he could hardly drag his feet across the court - it was very hot and he is still carrying some excess weight and not match fit. He look exhausted at 0-3 down and I was convinced it was over, but Felix helped him xith a few double faults, and suddenly it was 3-3.....then he served for the match again at 5-4.....then he lost his serve again......OMG! And OK - i admit - I was too nervous to watch the tie-break - i kind of hid my fqce in my hands - but he did it - and the is very, very happy - but very tired too!

And so am I......talk to you later. And you know the best bit about MC - there's no Duckboy here!!!!!!!

Love,

Rosie

Re: David In Monte Carlo

That's what champs do, Rosie. They pick themselves even when things aren't going so well for them. Congrats to Dave for holding it together when it counted most.

Re: David In Monte Carlo

Hi, Rosie!! So nice to see u again!! The match is really painful but with a good result!! We are all nearly faint for about 2 hours, guess you must suffer much more when watching him live. Glad to know he won over his game, the hot weather and his excess weight of course Hope he can go farther in MC, then he can get more matches, then lose more weight....

Re: David In Monte Carlo

David always does this, he loves making us suffer! Remember in January when he was playing against Duckboy in that exhibition? He had the match, I think he was 4-0 or something like that and somehow that ended up in a tie break!!! But he won it I thought he was gonna lose that match too but I guess we always forget that he always does this and he never gives up!
