Buena Suerte en Madrid!!!

Next monday start the TMS Madrid and this is what David has been saying about it:

http://www.elcomercioperu.com.pe/Edi...es0386478.html

"tratar de ganar el torneo". "Para eso estamos acá. Más ahora que estoy peleando el Masters".
"I'll try to win the tournament, That's why we're here. Even more now that I'm fighting to get into the Masters"

"Guillermo ya casi está adentro y yo tengo que jugar bien los dos Masters Series que faltan (Madrid y París). Todavía tengo chances (de llegar a Shanghai). Tengo que jugar bien la semana que viene y ahí veré. Creo que puedo"
"Guillermos is almost in and I have to play well the two Master Series which are left (Madrid and Paris). I still have chances (to get to Shanghai). I have to play well all week and then I'll see. I think I can make it"

"Estoy jugando bien, aunque tal vez me falte un poco de ritmo. La semana pasada no entrené porque me dolía un poco la espalda. La semana que viene voy a andar muy bien".
"I'm playing well, although I still lack a bit of rythm. Last week I didn't train because my back hurt a little. Next week I'm gonna do really well"

Re: Buena Suerte en Madrid!!!

it's great to see him soo motivated to get to the masters and good to see he believes in himself and at the same time admits he's not 100% (lacking rythm)
I wish him the best in Madrid and the rest of the season...hope to see him in the masters that would be great for him and a good begining to the next season
Vamos David

Nalbo is the Number 5 seed and has a bye into R2 where he would face either Melzer or Spadea.

Re: Buena Suerte en Madrid!!!

I hope he gets Spadea. Didn't he play Spadea at some point in this tournament last year, or am I thinking of another one?

He has a very good record against Spadea, something like 3-0?
Melzer's a flashy player, but I'd also expect Nalbo to win that one.
If he were to win his first match, he'd probably play Tojo in a rematch of their Wimby QF match. Then probably A-Rod in the quarters.
If he's fully focused, determined and motivated anything's possible.............

Yes...anything. I don't think Nalby and Melzer have played each on the senior circuit. Wasn't Melzer the guy he defaulted against in the Wimbledon junior semis back in '99?

Re: Buena Suerte en Madrid!!!

From what I saw of the scores in his matches, he didn't play all that well.

well sigma I agree with kyla...I don't know if you've seen the matches he played, he really played well, even against JCF, he served well, finished the points in a good way, I can say I enjoyed his vienna matches more than his USO ones
but as we always say it's a problem in his mind and in playing and finishing the big points...and here's the weakness, he has to be solid when he has big opportunities...

wish him the best im Madrid

I agree 100%.
Maybe I was a bit harsh the other night on my thoughts on the JCF. He's in decent form, but sometimes he needs to be a bit more ruthless on the big points.
Perhaps sometimes we expect too much from Nalbo, but that's because we all know the potential he has.
Anyway I'll stop all my waffling and best wishes in Madrid Nalbo.
