Cool David in Montreal

Since it's his first tournament since Wimbledon, and the first official match after the DC, I don't expect him to get really far here...
The draw is not out yet, but with some luck and if he mantains his confidence level he can have a good tournament.
Thoughts?

Re: David in Montreal

I don't expect him to go far here either - I think his motivation is purely for the Dc now - and he sees the US season almost as a "necessary evil" where he'll be desparate not to injure himself or get too tired before what he considers the pinnacle of his year - the Davis Cup. I would like to see him go far of course and maybe, if he isn't putting pressure on himself for these tourneys, - then he may do - let's just wait and see. Good Luck to him anyway.

Re: David in Montreal

He can do quite well, but the big prize is at the end of the year.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: David in Montreal

Since I’ll be able to watch the tournament on TV, I desperately want David to do very well and go as far as he can, why not to the final. Then they’ll show him for sure. It’s been quite long since I last watched him at Wimbledon, and it was the match he lost. So I would say VAMOS!!!

Re: David in Montreal

i think that he will do it OK, obviously it will depend a lot of the draw, you know, you can face players like moya, ferrero, and dent in the first rounds, and they can give you a lot of troubles, but i think that he will do an interesting tournament.

I'm off to Montreal in a few minutes. Draw this afternoon at the tennis site. David better win his first match! Hope to get to him somehow. Wish me luck!

Hasta luego!

Re: David in Montreal

I'm looking forward to see how Nalbo will do here. I believe he can do well here, he's got good memories from Montreal.
He's definitely going to be fresh, so that's an advantage for him. But most players in the draw are match tight, whether on clay or hard.
I think he just wants to play as much as possible to be match tight for the U.S Open and the DC.
