China Open?

I read Puerta said that Mancini ask tio him and Ddavid to play doubles together in USOPEN and China Open to practice before David Cup in Bratislava

so i can expect David play singles in China after USOPEN

i hope that

see you soon

Re: China Open?

I don't know, Mauro, but you're getting like everyone else (myself included) and typing "David Cup". Is this a subliminal thing?

Re: China Open?

"d" is next to "s" on the keyboard..............I do it all the time As for Beijing - my "gut" feeling is that David WILL play there in both singles and doubles unless he reaches the very latter stages of the US Open in which case he'll pull out at the last minute - just my own opinion anyway.

I know, but it's still funny just the same. What if it does end up being "Copa David"?

Re: China Open?

I will go to Beijing this year. Here's no news here so far, though I quite doubt if he will go far to Asia to play one week before DC semi. If the main purpose is to play doubles with Puerta, why not choose to practise with him in Europe. Play US Open, and go to Beijing play CO, then back to Europe to prepare DC, in 3 weeks in line.....though I will be very happy to see him play in Beijing, but don't think it's a good idea.

If I get any update, will let you all know.

Re: China Open?

Thanks Nova. Problem about playing in Europe that week is that all the tourneys going on here are on clay, so there would be no point in playing there to prepare for DC. They would just have to practice which doesn't give them the "sharpness" that real matches would give them.

Got the sense...but still don't think it's good, coz the time difference is too big, which can easily cause tiredness and affect their status. But I would love to see these two play doubles in Beijing. Maybe I can watch he play both single and doubles this time

Re: China Open?

Ok...yesterday, Beijing has an official conference said Nalby will come to play China Open....they didn't mention Puerta.

The other main players are Davydenko, Tojo, Moya, Ferrero, Coria, Safin, F Lopez...etc. The list can be changed before this tourney. So far, it's just the plan.

Alright. I hope he can make a better showing this time than last.

Last time he reached the QF, lost to Jarkko, not too bad. This year, as to DC in the next week, I don't think he will put much energy on the single, but still hope he can play well in Beijing as I will be there to watch
