Re: Stoke Park

Thanks Frula - I had just posted it on the Wimbledon thread, but guess here is more sensible. Like I said on the other thread, David's match should start about 4.30pm-5.00pm English time, but the weather forecast is not so good for tomorrow so not sure if it will finish. The weather was nice there today (despite bad forecasts), but English Summer weather can be so unpredictable- there is really no way of telling.

One bad thing Pim-Pim was practising for hours today -literally hours, and looked very sharp on the grass. David did not practice once!!!!!!

I think they are all sold out but I will try and check tomorrow.

And Jazz - he is here but not there if that makes sense! In England - but wasn't at the Club today - at least not before I left.

Hope to see him tomorrow. Or at least hear about it.

Re: Stoke Park

Well I've woken up to the worst rain I've seen here in a while - just like the forecasters predicted, so I don't see much chance of David playing today. If it clears later they'll probably get one match in starting at about 4.30pm, but David isn't scheduled first and the light won't last long when it's this cloudy, so he won't play unless they change his court - and we all know how much he'll love that Because Stoke Park is really only a tennis club not an international venue, the second court is really only a practice court - good grass but no chairs for the spectators and only about 5 feet between the court and the Bar area! I saw him lose to Feli Lopez there last year (he got moved last year too), so I'm hoping that won't happen again. I'll go along later and see what's happening, but if it looks as bad as it does now, I'm not staying there all day - I'll come home, and keep in touch with them by phone to see if there is a chance of play. Will keep you posted.

I've seen! Funny indeed! But I guess that's the risk when we constantly practise forum-hopping!
