david & barrionuevo

you all must know that barrionuevo was called to train the male hockey team, anybody knows what is he going to do?.
And i think that is good that barrionuevo has a different way of work from other trainers, maybe is the way to stop injuries, he is a very good trainer, and everybody talks perfect about him, so, maybe is a good way to stop injuries, to do different things from those that david was doing before.

Probably so, frula. Although I keep hearing his training methods are rather unusual, it may get results.

Time will tell...
Although I don't like the fact that he'll be training to David and the male Hockey Team at the same time...

Re: david & barrionuevo

I agree with Tiff and Jazz - I am very unconvinced by his methods and I'm not happy with the fact that he will not be devoting 100% of his time to David's career. However, he does come highly recommended by people who know an awful lot more about tennis and traning procedures than I do - so I guess it's a case of being patient and waiting to see what will happen in a few months time.

Re: david & barrionuevo

Well...Rose...you are the one that has seen his methods in action!!! (and I know you thought they were strange)....now I guess we have to wait and see if they work. I am not so sure David needs a Physical Trainer to travel all the time though...he does have Eduardo and Javier...and he should also know his own body by now...we should wait to see what happens. You know intensive training within the realms of tennis varies so much...and the bouncing and jumping around cones is all part of it...I know it can look stupid sometimes...but mobility is the name of the game...not that I ever though David had a problem with mobility...but if he improves...and he stays physically and mentally well...the world is our oyster!!!!!

Javier is not around so often now since he started running David's School in Cordoba, plus since their Father died he is spending more time at home with their Mum.

Re: david & barrionuevo

I think it will work somehow. The hockey team is not going to need his service all year around, are they? I'm sure they have a full staff of trainers to act in Barrionuevo's stead when he devotes time to David's training. If it's as hard and demanding as Rosie and others are saying, it will help with injury problems and get his whole body tightened and toned. We want that, don't we?

Re: david & barrionuevo

David is pretty much "tightened and toned" anyway...but thats not why he has him....its to avoid the injuries..that I'm sure of....and we all want that.

As long as it works...and David is ok with it...anything to avoid injuries I guess.

Re: david & barrionuevo

Hope this PT works for nalbo. His endurance and fitness levels are better than most players, as his grand slam record shows.
I think all nalbo fans have to be patient and I hope that this guy can help in any way possible to limit these annoying injuries that have disrupted his career.

Re: david & barrionuevo

we dont know nothing about training a player (at least i know nothing), and this man, is said to be very good, now the problem is that he may not be 100%of the time with david, but the hockey team does not plays very often, so maybe he can put somebody to supervise david´s training or hockey team´s training and be focused in both things at the same time.
