Re: Tennis Masters Cincinnati, 14.08.2011-21.08.2011

I only realize today that there is a blog on Nalbandian:

www.vamosdavid.com

From this blog, I found the most interview on Nalby - he talked about how difficult it is to come back from injuries again and again and again (he has been doing the same things like 10 times in total since 2007?), and it is tough to beat healthy players like Federer who play a full schedule without major injury problems.

Perhaps I was too upset when saying I lose faith on him previously...After reading this interview, I feel bad for him. Hopefully he WON'T suffer from ANY injury again!

I dont have much expectation on him, but hope he could remain healthy (he has very few points to defend from now on). I actually he would opt to play those smaller tournaments in Asia after Davis Cup SF and few indoor tournaments, so that he could finish the year in top 30 for an easier path next year (seeded for Australian Open).

I really hope he would finally do well in GS again in 2012.

I actually think Nalby should ask for a wild card to play 1 more tournament before US Open.

He won't have any chance at US Open, but he could use it as 'practice' match to get used to playing 5-set match as preparation for Davis Cup SF.

I think Nalby and Murray have very similar careers in their early 20s - always reaching Grand SF/QF, and rarely reached final (Nalby did it once, Murray 3 times I think).

Nalby's GS performance became shockingly horrible since he turned 25 in 2007. I just hope the same thing won't happen to Murray...

Nalby needs to start the match very fast and win the first set. If he loses the first set, he wont have a chance. He must immediately win the match in a hurry (he almost did it when they last played indoor in November) in straight sets before Murray starts to gain momentum.

Currently David physically and mentally is not ready for great stuff...
I'm very sorry.

question is, is he able to improve from Nr "100" to Nr 20 again?
I find those guys are not too strong, just David himself is not in good form... (yes, both physically and mentally) ...

David should play some challengers just to gain some confidence and points. He has nothing to do in USO or any big tourney. It's not a crime or a shame to play smaller events. Ljubicic, Wawrinka, Verdasco and many more did it when they came back after injury pauses. Even Agassi played some challengers when he was out of top 100. It's better to win a small tourney than to be humiliated week afer week in big tourneys. He should hire a new coach too; When he was with Lobo his serve was not so terrible

It seems David played not so bad as in Montreal, Murray was just too strong... he is in the final now vs. Djokovic...

I agree, if David wants to come back, as Andre did in 1997,
he needs to play and win more matches...
but David has not such plan i think

Are you suggesting he has no plan to win, or no plan to be like Agassi?
How can you exactly plan to win?
