Fantastic lob for the break of service!!!

David as usual hates this heat; but that shadow is going over the court now and that is a great sign!

Vamos Nalby!

Yes!!!!! He takes the first set 7-6 (4)!!!

I'm not sure about this one. When Nalby plays a tiebreak, is a mini-break when he holds his service point or when he breaks serve?

Re: David Nalbandian in US Open, August 30 - September 12, 2010.

Tape around Nalby's ankle after the first set in a medical time-out. I am praying that it is not serious and Nalby is just being cautious....or waiting for it to cool off.

No annuoncers in the live stream I'm watching. The only one that works for me (lousy internet connection) is http://www.atdhe.net/20636/watch-us-...an-vs-de-voest

Anyone know if the ankle problem is serious? Doesn't look like it from how he played the first game in set 2. 7-6, 1-0.

I don't think it is serious. They taped up his ankle. No announcers in the stream I'm watching, so no real word. His movement has seemed better since then though.

My guess is that it is not serious. His main problem today so far is hitting UFEs long, especially on easy service returns he would usually be nailing. Maybe the ankle has been preventing him from turning on those serves. I think he tweaked it, but he should be ok.

2-1 and an easy service hold. Just an FYI, he has been threatening the De Voest service almost every game, but then he hits an UFE out of nowhere (hitting it too far out repeatedly), and lets De Voest survive. But I would guess he has a sizable edge in total points right now.
