Re: Barcelona 2009

So I can't decide whether I want Almagro or Chela to win - better chances to win against Chela definitely but better chance of live streaming if Almagro wins (but still not guaranteed - if Nadal, Ferrer, Verdasco and Robredo go through).

Anyway it's not like I get to decide.

Re: Barcelona 2009

I'd go with Chela. Even it means no coverage.
You're right, Almagro is the Spanish player most likely to be put on court 1. (If the others all go through, of course.) Plus I think he's a bad match-up for David. Therefore, I'll hope for Chela.

Re: Barcelona 2009

Definitely Chela, despite that Almagro plays quite awful lately (he barely survived against Hanescu, I watched that match). He hits everything hard, has a very fast 1 st serve and on a good day he can blow off out of the court lot of guys on clay.

Re: Barcelona 2009

It's Almagro...

The good news is: center court.
(They've put Ferrer/Starace on court 1. )

Sounds like Chela had plenty of opportunities to win it, but couldn't close it out. Hopefully Almagro continues more of the same kind of form at least... But it's still a difficult prospect thinking about it since David has never had much success returning Almagro's serve in the past.

Re: Barcelona 2009

I've just had a look at the TennisTV schedule and just like previous days on Spanish TV, the first match isn't broadcast on streams. So no stream despite it being on Centre Court...

Great. That is just great.

And no, as far as I can remember, David didn't manage to break Almagro once in their last two matches.

It is not just streams, they are not broadcasting it on TV either. Teledeporte starts at 14:30 just like in previous days. This is the worst coverage of the 500 event so far. They even stopped broadcasting the Monaco-Safin match in the middle of the second set. :retard:

I think he did once in their Rome match in the first set. I remember because Almagro was serving for it (pretty much self-destructing himself) then David hands the break straight away with equally poor play.

It sounds like they're being incredibly lazy over there.

Yeah, I think you're right. I mostly remember the Acapulco final, where whenever David had some sort of chance on return, Almagro would start hitting aces and service winners at will...

But wasn't Barcelona always difficult in terms of streams etc.?

Re: Barcelona 2009

David took the first set 6:3 with serving for it. He had an early break and couldn't hold it to 3:0, but luckily he was able to break him again.

Almost all the games have been very tight.

Re: Barcelona 2009

Not really what I expected, so far.

Anybody else finding the scoreboard extremely erratic today?

Re: Barcelona 2009

He broke and is serving for 4:2. Please hold David!

Yes 4:2 with an easy service game!
