R2 against Karlovic/Kiefer. H2H 2:0 against Ivo, 0:1 against Nicolas.

Kiefer has done well against Karlovic in the past. But he's not really in form at the moment.

Re: Paris 2008: The Last Stand

Landing in Del Potro's section of the draw yet again is very annoying indeed.

He has a potentially difficult match against Karlovic or Kiefer though before that, more so if it's Karlovic.

Re: Paris 2008: The Last Stand

If Nalby does well here and even better to qualify(very unlikely)
Do you think there any chance he actually goes to China?
Or he is 100% sure he won't even qualified, focus on Davis Cup?
Anyway, good luck.

There is a theoretical chance that if he reaches a final he can get the 8th spot. For that to happen Simon and Ferrer should lose in R2, Blake and Wawrinka doesn't reach semis, Tsonga and Gonzalez doesn't reach F, Verdasco, Monfils, Soderling and Almagro doesn't win the whole thing. Even if he gets there (which is very unlikely considering his draw), I think that DC is much more important to him then Shanghai. DC final is just 5 days after the TMC final.

David's first opponent will be Nicolas Kiefer, who beat Karlovic in straights, breaking him twice.

By the way, David and Lucas Arnold won their doubles match against Ouanna and Tsonga today.

Yep, they collected a lot of big scalps together this year. Mancini might decide to use Lucas in DC with David. It is not what he usually does, but looks like those 2 are best doubles team Argies have in the moment.
