Hmm, the early schedule again today is very annoying, since Eurosport doesn't start broadcasting yet. So bwin it is!

David held at love, and now has a bp to take the early lead. He had three chances to break in this service game already, but has yet to convert.

1-1....David missed a heck of an opportunity there.

And David holds for 2-1. Now try to break....

He is losing too many points on his 2nd serve.

Again a silly approach shot (he did quite few yesterday). And in Stockholm he had wonderful approach shots.

Finally a good challenge, it could have been his last one.

3 SPs ans 2nd one won. Not a bad TB, calm and steady hands.

Re: David enters the land of Lindt. Can he tune his game to Swiss precision in Basel?

David played a couple of very good points from 0-2 down in the TB to take control - off backhand return winner and forehand down-the-line winner.

I thought he played an average first set. Second serve was getting punished and Becker was winning quite a few cheap points on serve. His groundstrokes were looking solid though and they were engaging in more long rallies than I would have thought.

Can't believe this, 0:40 and 3 aces from Becker plus 2 service winners and another opportunity flies away.

How annoying. David just played three of his best points to get up 0-40, then Becker served 3 unreturnables, and David dumped a return into the net the next point to not break serve.

Huh that was was a hard BH smash for saving a second BP, and lousy FH for setting a 3rd BP.
