What a shot at 3-5! And what an anti-climax at the 2nd sp
(Nalby made a DF on Berdych's sp)
Hope he does well at third from the very start.

I guess David is too charming for one to remove his eyes.

Re: Defending champion David waves the red flag - will he be toppled in Madrid?

here is what I wrote on GM:

David BANs Berdych from Madrid AGAIN 6-2 6-7(5) 6-1
Could not resist to use dimonator's title once more.
Nalbandian totally dominated the first set, everything was clicking for him. In the second set he got broken at opening game due to few risky shot selections ending with FH errors missed by an inch. Tomas gained on confidence and held his serve mostly due to an excellent first serve. David missed a great chance to get back into the set in the 8th game, he had *0:40 but Tomas stayed calm and managed to save 4BPs. Again a pressure from Nalbandian when Berdych served for the set and he folded. Berdych was leading 5:2 in the TB and then comes a miraculous point that David saved at net. Berdych choked at set point *6:4 as expected, but David helped him took the second set with a DF.
In the third set Nalbandian upped a gear and broke in the opening game and again in the 5th and 7th and that was the end for Berdych.
