David Nalbandian criticized the Argentine team captain because no part in the unity between him and Del Potro, "Ideally, share equipment and target the two forward," he said, later, the unquillense said "no problems" with Tito
May 5, 2011 - 19:20

David will not play next week's Rome Masters 1000 - ArchivoAunque his return to the circuit has more and more unknowns, David Nalbandian also always news. When not playing, it gives you to speak for such controversial. In the middle of a double recovery operation that is outside the Courts since March, the Cordoba accused Davis Cup captain, Tito Vazquez, appear not "never" when it comes to mediate between him and Juan Martin del Potro, with who have differences in years.

In an interview with Chinese news agency Xinhua, Nalbandian fired in relation to whether they can achieve unity between the two: "That's the job of captain. With Tito did not talk about it, did not speak and, moreover, Tito never appears, only the Davis Cup week. "

His relationship with Delp. "Ideally, we play the two, beyond anything. With Juan Martin speak, we have a normal relationship and, ideally, share equipment and target the two for later. It does not serve my purpose is one thing and it another, "said David.

As for Del Potro said he hoped that "may be" in the series of quarter-finals of the Davis Cup against Kazakhstan, from 7 to 9 July in Buenos Aires, "because it is a great player" and be united "is best that can happen to Argentina. "

However, he admitted: "It is totally understandable and perfect that everyone has their priorities," but reiterated his desire that the time to play Davis Cup are "two good."

His absence in Rome and doubt for Roland Garros. Nalbandian will not play the Masters 1000 in Rome. "Next week in Rome is not going to be and the idea is to see if I can play a tournament before Roland Garros. It is very difficult to start a tournament to five sets, so there we will wait, but let us see how these weeks we are evolving, "said Cordoba, who is recovering from surgery performed twice on March 10 because of an inguinal hernia and a torn adductor.

His physical. "I know I can play one, two or three years and then the physical is what I will be determining how long I can keep competitive. For now I'll play the next tournament and I will be watching over the years to where I can stand physically "closed.

It is so disappointing and frustrating to see him missing a GS again, and why does he fail to play with good health for a full season, and also either did poorly or was absent from the GS since 2007? He always reached the SF/QF of GS way back in 2003-2006, and now...

But it is a wise decision not to play in Roland Garros. But I think he needs to play 2 grass warm-up tournaments for Wimbledon.

He always struggles with injuries and early stages of tournaments, so we never know how he would perform against Djokovic/Nadal/Federer. It is sad to see him slowly fade away (reminding me of Sabatini - but at least she won 1 Grand Slam!). Will he ever win a Grand Slam? Or should I say if he would reach another QF/SF of a slam again?

I have a feeling that 2012 should be his last chance to win a GS (it should be Wimbledon) - I predict Djokovic would burn out a bit, and Federer and Nadal might be a bit off-peak.

I just dont want to see him injured again and retire quickly. He is sooooo talented!

The 2002 Wimbledon finalist David Nalbandian has been awarded a wild card into the main draw of the AEGON Championships at The Queen’s Club, 6th-12th June.

Nalbandian has suffered with injuries over the past 12 months, but although the French Open will come too soon for him in his comeback, he will be ready to play on grass at The AEGON Championships. The Argentine will compete in a main draw that also features the World No.1 Rafael Nadal, the Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic, the World No.4 Andy Murray, the four-time champion Andy Roddick and the 2009 US Open winner Juan Martin Del Potro.

“I am looking forward to starting my comeback from injury on grass at the AEGON Championships at The Queen’s Club,” said a grateful Nalbandian.

“It has been a frustrating time, but my recovery is going well and I expect to be in good shape for the tournament. I enjoy playing on grass, and reaching the Wimbledon final in 2002 was a special moment in my career. I hope to have a successful grass court season this year.”

Tournament Director Chris Kermode was delighted to welcome him into the singles main draw.

“The AEGON Championships has a tradition of using its wild cards to give opportunities to established players who have had a difficult time with injuries,” he said. “In awarding our first wild card to David Nalbandian we have maintained that tradition, and added an exciting, explosive and entertaining tennis player to our singles main draw.”

The tournament still has four wild cards to award before the tournament gets underway on Monday 6th June.

The AEGON Championships will be broadcast live, every day from 6th-12th June, on BBC Television and Eurosport.
