For the race, that's cool. For the rankings, it's still cool. Besides, the Copa Telmex is not the GS or the Masters, so we take what we can get, smile, and move on.

Re: How many titles will David win in 2008 ?

While we're discussing ranking points, David is only ten points off from Gasquet now and can make it to number 7 next week with a first round win. Roddick has back-to-back SFs to defend at Indian Wells/Miami so it would be good to close the gap, although looking further behind Blake or Youzhny could make it up the rankings following the AMS events if they do well.

This is all true; however, I would prefer to concentrate on one win at a time. David's winning BA yesterday was a step in the right direction, and we hope the progress continues. Personally, I don't think he should play Acapulco, but it's his call, his choice.

I'm more discussing the competition rather than what he will do.

Well....Youzhny lost 250 points off the computer for his opening-round loss in Rotterdam, while David gained 175. He's 10 points off Gasquet's total, and as you say, with a first-round win, David will surpass him.

With David, right now, my only concern is his ability to recover from last week. He didn't exactly take the easy road to the title, you know. If he's too tired to play Acapulco, then he won't make it out of the early rounds. But we can only hope for the best.

Now, with regard to his competition....let me take some time to review their 07 results at this time last year. But again....David has huge opportunities in the spring season.
