Nalbandian is not afraid of the English
Argentina world number one stated that his team is “widely favorite” for this weekend’s Davis Cup match: “I would be lying if I said the series is difficult to win,” he said.
David Nalbandian, Argentina number one, said that the players of the team from his country are superior to the ones of Great Britain in the first round of World Group in the Davis Cup, which will take place this Friday at Parque Roca.

“We are clearly favorites and we know it. I would be lying if I said the series is difficult to win. Andy Murray is a great player and the fact that he hasn’t come is an advantage for us,” said the Argentine player, with regard to the best British player, who has been inactive due to an injury.
Nalbandian, ninth-seeded in the ATP rankings, said that the clay surface at Parque Roca stadium, in Buenos Aires, doesn’t benefit him at all, but it does benefit Agustin Calleri, Jose Acasuso, and Sebastian Prieto, the rest of his teammates.
“I always find it difficult to adapt to clay, which is not my favorite surface, but still I will be in good conditions for the matches,” assured the tennis player, who added: “at this moment, the court is very heavy, which is a disadvantage for the English, who prefer to play on faster surfaces.”
