Re: Australian Open 2008

Good news that David's first match is on Tuesday so he has one more day to rest and be fit.

That is somewhat lucky. An extra day could be what he needs. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Vamos David and Juan Carlos

Good luck to David against Smeets. His matches a very rarely stress free.
I probably won't be able to follow the match.

I won't be able to see the match either. They won't broadcast it and I refuse to get up in the middle of the night to watch a live scoreboard. So I'll just wish him luck in my sleep. Vamos, David.

Re: Australian Open 2008

I hope I get to watch some of this, they tend to show all the Australians on the outside courts (on the two channels) except it clashes with Sirianni's match so they will probably show that one.

Ditto. If I could find TV coverage of his match I would definately watch it, but I also can't be bothered to stare a scoreboard in the early hours of the morning.

Same with me. But the first, second and even third matches of the day are O.K. for me - late evening. I just don't have any coverage but the wonderful ESPN2 that rarely shows a complete match and always seems to think Sharapova or some crappy American match is what everyone wants to see.

And isn't it fun to watch a nail bitter on the scoreboard - always wondering what is going on. Hopefully "the new and improved David" won't have any of those in the early rounds but in the past he was famous for making an easy match difficult. I expect it will take him a while to get in the groove with no match play before the AO but for once his draw should allow that.

Stay healthly and VAMOS David!
