BTW. Have you gotten married or planning a wedding? Congratulations either way.
I love to travel, but I'll have to wait until summer....to get in on those teacher discounts.

Ah, I'm dying. It's 35C every day.

The poor players from NA & Europe are melting during their matches. It's good for David though. As a Southern Hemisphere resident, he's got an advantage acclimatising to our very hot summer.

I heard that Southern Hemisphere summers are considerably hotter than Northern Hemisphere summers? Is this true, or is it all relative?

I think so, especially for Melbourne. The summers I've spend in Europe and North America were nowhere near as hot as here. Also, the further south you are, the more extreme it is.

Unlike tropical Queensland (the top right part of Oz), we have extreme weather in Melbourne. It's not uncommon to have 40C days. On NYE, we had over 30C even at midnight! Our winters are also cool (by Australian standards). I really feel for the players.

I just watched the Adelaide International and Neimenen was just dying. He came straight from Finland to 35C+ temperatures.

Not necessarily. my country is in the northern hemisphere but in summers we have temperatures above 40 degrees everyday except on days when it rains. It's not half as hot in the States. we went there last year summer vacations. Apparently they had a heatwave in california but i found the weather rather pleasant.

Re: The Asado Thread: Chat (and Chew) Here

Hm, being from Holland I would be dying in all the degrees mentioned. We think it's an exeptional hot day when it reaches 30c in the summer. It's actually called a heatwave then.

Vamos David and Juan Carlos

Re: The Asado Thread: Chat (and Chew) Here

In the last two or three summers, the weather was very hot, 35 degrees average. Considering that Slovakia is in the Central Europe, it is pretty hot.

But currently it's snowing.

I like David Nalbandian.

Winters here....we used to see snow by the buckets full when I was younger. These days, we don't see as much snow, but we still get the cold, wet weather.

Nadal getting bitchslapped too funny.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

I heard. Kind of made David's matches with him look difficult-competitive even.

If you saw the sf with Moya and Nadal...I'm surprised Nadal could even get out of bed today let alone play tennis....fit as he is , I think Nadal left it all on the court yesterday...it was an electrifing [sp?] match. I am so happy I was able to see it ...and glad I missed today's final.

Same over here. The Spanish match was a beatiful show, detailed presentation of tennis. Some excellent strokes being played there.. beatiful.

I like David Nalbandian.

I'm taking notes from you, for sure. I'd love to do it one day, just pack & go without beeing sure when to return.

I'm still planning & it's harder than expected. I've only picked the catering so far, & even on that I'm still not 100% sure no location, no dress, nothing! It's all so confusing that we have decided to take a week off by April and *try to* organize everything by then. much better than doing it while working every day. there's so much to choose & see.

Oh, sorry. I forgot about the Middle East. Definitely hotter there for sure!

Good luck on the planning justClaudia! I've helped 3 friends plan their weddings and oh boy, it's a whole lot of work.

Back to David-related stuff: I'm waiting for the Kooyong draw to come out and I'll buy a ticket for a day when David is surely playing.
