Re: Tennis Tipping - U.S. Open - OOP for Friday #982

Questions of the day:

First answer to the question of yesterday:
Code:
Question 1 (Easy and sad): Who has realized the most important series of consecutives win in US OPEN? and how many?
The answer is Federer with 41 wins in a row between 2004 and 2009 - he won the title in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and lost in final against Del Potro and 2 tie break in 2009! Congrats Vamosrafanadal.

Code:
Question 2 (Medium): I am American still active: my best result SF with 4 matches in 5 sets!
The answer is Ginepri in 2005 with two easy wins against Garcia Lopez (R1) and Muller (R2), but 5 sets in R3 against Haas , in R16 against Gasquet, in QF against Coria (75 last set) and finally lost in 5 sets against Agassi in SF.. Congrats Hidalgo!

Question of the day now:
Code:
Question 1 (Easy): What's the longest final of the US OPEN?
Code:
Question 2 (Hard): Just a reference to the Raonic-Gasquet of Monday (39 Aces for Raonic!): This player served 49 Aces in his QF, but finally lost it. Who's he?

TT singles: - Rank 130 (+113 in 2013)
Finals: CH Buenos Aires'12, Fut Poitiers'13
GS: AO13:Q+R1, FO13:Q+R2, WI13: QR2
TT doubles: - Rank 94 (+175 in 2013)
Titles: CH Buenos-Aires'12, Fut Poitiers'13 , CH Caltanisseta'13, ATP Bogota (with Fickelgruber)
PAW: Rank 36 (Race: 19)

Today I send my picks in the last minute. Not a distraction, I had everything under control but I was taking as much time as possible to think in my picks because I got home late. Excuse me managers.

Re: Tennis Tipping - U.S. Open - OOP for Friday #982

Expected as it is what it should happen. I was going to pick Ferrer 3-1 and Nadal 3-0 as well, it was the pick to do for today. But I risked a little bit with Ferrer 3-0 (I decided it in the last minutes and this is why I send the picks that late), rooting for a tired Gasquet that hasn't played that amount of matches in a GS since 2007 and who didn't won any set in the 8 matches he lost against Ferrer. But the fact is that Ferrer scoreline against Bautista Agut, Kukushkin and Tipsarevic is not inspiring. I hope that Ferrer grinds like a crazy from the baseline to tire Gasquet as soon as possible. Gasquet game doesn't damage Ferrer but Richard has enough quality to at least win a set if he is fresh.

I almost expected you until last minute picking Gasquet .. But sure first you are spanish and you go naturally to Spanish and Ferrer is certainly too tired to win over Ferrer..

Re: Tennis Tipping - U.S. Open - OOP for Friday #982

I changed the sr because I checked we had the CB advantage so I didnt want to take a risk by putting 3-2, but in the end Its obvious Gasquet is playing better than usually he does, so maybe I shouldnt have changed.

HELLAS TT TEAM

I dont deserve to play for them

Well to be fair I want Gasquet to win over Ferrer today because Nadal, Haas, Youzhny and Gasquet are my favourite players. I risked too much picking Ferrer 3-0, it was definitely a wrong decision I shouldn't have changed the Ferrer 3-1. I was thinking about picking Gasquet as well but after a marathon against Raonic and being Gasquet a weak player physically for me it was too much risk despite the fact that Ferrer is not playing very well in this US OPEN.
