I simply loved the interview!!! Thanks sweetie!!!

Tommy mostly talked about many things we already know and some others about his projects. I'll try to spend a few minutes now and do a resumé of it

The presenter joked about him being "guapo", which means he's handsome and asked about it to the public. He thanked everyone (that should be the ladies) and smiled. Then she joked about him being "moreno", which means he's tawny from Miami.

He said he arrived last Thursday and went to a friend and then they started practising a bit. The presenter said Miami wasn't a good tournament for the Spanish and Tommy replied he wasn't totally on track, Rafa also lost and many Spaniards lost early in there. But now it comes Clay Season, which is where they're best and hopefully they'll be able to do well.

They talked about Tommy's schedule so far and how long he has been away from home, since the beginning of the year. And Tommy said he barely has time to see anything from all the countries he visits, because when he's winning he has to practise and keep work for next Round and when he looses he simply wants to get away from there and prepare as soon as possible his next Tournament so things can go better. But that's his job and he loves it. And he's happy he had now 3 nights at home and relaxed in his own couch for a while.

The presenter asked him if he didn't felt that getting away from home at 14 he lost many things. He answered he had the feeling he did loose some things, but on the other hand he was able to do others that not many could achieve. So, when he balances off he's happy because he did what he wanted to do. The only catch was that he's away from family and friends for long periods of time. But he also said that when he feels it's time to start his family he'll stop tennis and do it.

Re: Video of Tommy

Have you seen this video? The players are talking about their favourite foods.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRx5VeEO9Cg

Tommy is quite near the end, he say Spanish seafood, sushi and sashimi are his favourite foods.

I think Gilles Simon gave the best answer though - Mcdonalds!

Re: Video of Tommy

Here's a couple of new videos on youtube:

About his wheelchair tennis tournament (in Spanish - I can translate if anyone wants?):

About the Swedish Open (It wasn't the best idea to interview Tommy in car park, you can hardly hear what he is saying!!)

Tommy was talking about the tournament and a lot about his friend Santi. He said Santi was a great friend of his and they used to play tennis together before Santi had a car accident that left him disabled.

Santi was quite depressed after the accident and it was tennis that helped to lift him out of depression and help improve his quality of life. Santi had the idea to create a tournament for wheelchair tennis player but unfortunately died before he could realise the dream. Tommy said he had the idea to continue with the plans Santi had already laid down as a memorial and to make his friends dream come true. Tommy said that if Santi could see what they were doing, he would be very happy.

Tommy also said it was quite hard to get the International Tennis Federation to agree to everything but he’s managed to get it the way he wanted. He said he wanted the tournament to be right after Roland Garros so he could attend and make sure the tournament was a great success. He said it was a great pleasure to able to do something like this to help disabled tennis players, who deserve much more than he does, but, unfortunately do not get the opportunity to play professionally like himself with all the glamour and luxury that comes with pro life.

Tommy said that he hopes the tournament and his foundation will help to make positive contributions to those with disabilities, especially children.

Tommy then went on to thank everyone involved (sponsors, organisers, etc) for the support they had given him. He admitted that organising the tournament had given him a few headaches but he was extremely satisfied about doing it.

Finally, Tommy said that every time he is talking about the tournament he has the same feelings as when he wins an ATP tournament.

I think he comes across as being a genuinely very good person!
