Yes, it was great that Tommy tweeted before and after surgery

Here's the news from Barcelona Open:

Hopefully he'll get a wild card to the main draw for the French Open...

Re: ~<Tommy News>~

Here's another report but in Spanish:

http://www.abc.es/agencias/noticia.asp?noticia=1101112

Google translate

The Spanish tennis player Tommy Robredo will be three to four months off after having undergone surgery this afternoon to a chronic hamstring tendonitis in his left leg.

Robredo, who trailed this disease since the second half of last season, has been operated by Dr. James Vilaro and Ivan Saenz Mapfre Medical Clinic of Barcelona Tennis.

Dr. Angel Ruiz-Cotorro, who is covering the Davis Cup tie in Oviedo as responsible for the RFET Medical Services has been aware at all times of the intervention, which lasted about an hour and a quarter.

The player must remain 48 hours in the clinic and it is anticipated that three to four months may be preparer to face the competition with full guarantees.

Robredo's physical problems had made him fall to 124 of the ATP rankings. Catalan, 29, hopes to return in season European soil.

Re: ~<Tommy News>~

Thanks for those! I really hope he can play Roland Garros, as I'm finally going there this year... but of course, him getting healthy is the most important thing right now!

You're welcome

Good that he seems not to have had to stay in the hospital any longer. I hope you'll have a good time with him at Roland Garros, but yes, the most important thing is his health. No more retirement because of injury, better to lose a match without any pain though I don't wish him to lose any matches of course.

It's terrible to see the ATP ranking now. His points are less and less... after Indian Wells he'll have 165 points and after Monte Carlo only 75 pts, 10 pts from Wimbledon, 20 pts from Umag and 45 pts from Shanghai. That means he needs a wild card to main draw for not only every ATP-level tournament, but also for some big Challenger ones, maybe also for middle Challenger ones... I think it would be not problematic for him to get a wild card for Barcelona, Madrid, maybe also Bastad and Challengers but I don't know... I can only wish him all the best.

I hope and wish he'll get well soon and play as soon as possible, but I think it could be better for him that he'll come back when he'll be able to use his "protected ranking" in order to entry into the 250, 500, 1000 tournaments and Grand Slams. All not easy unfortunately...
