Yes, it's the Challenger in Poland.
This is definetly not a pride issue for Alex. It's actually a difficult decision whether to play challengers or try to qualify for the bigger events.
And he has played a challenger tournament last year in Bratislava and had also entered one in Besancon earlier this year. But if you make it to the main draw of some bigger events, either through qualies or a wildcard, I think it's logical that he's playing those events.
Sometimes of course it could be easier to play some challengers and get your confidence back there but that doesn't always work. E.g. even when Agassi played challengers when his ranking was down he lost some first rounds which he admitted were some of the hardest losses.
so, basically all I wanna say is that Alex is trying the hardest he ever had to get back to where he belongs. It's just not easy for him. It's not gonna be an easy way and maybe he'll never arrive but he's definetly ready to go "down and dirty" like he once said.
Just my point of view...
Alright, I put my philosophical mode off now
As for Stettin, Alex plays the last match today at 7pm.
