I realized we didn't have that thread yet and it's about time :D

Alex is on the qualies list for the Australien Open. He needs 4-9 players to withdraw (the number is because of official and unofficial withdrawls) to get a main draw spot.

Then he's also in the alternat list for Buenos Aires 2 weeks later.

Fingers crossed that he gets in the main draw at thos 2 tournaments!

VAMOS ALEX!!! :worship:

Hi to all Alex's Fans. Okay seems that his injury isn't that serious but as the club is relegated in the 2nd Division, he decided not to play today. But he was there to support the guy who replaced him: he coached him during the match (but he lost agains George Bastl 6-1 6-2), giving him advice and playing the ballboy

After the match I went to Alex to give him an envelope with our 3 messages (the ones from Deflori, HT and myself) and I said: "Hey Alex, in this you'll find messages from your fans in Europe. Messages of support to let you know they're still behind you. I gathered them from the net." and he was surprised and said "Oh, thank you very much, really."

And then I came back to my mom, waiting for the autograph session that was "planned" for Alex's fans (he couldn't play so he went there and was available for the public). But as I saw nothing was really "planned" and that people went to him to take pics of him and with him, I decided to return to him to take pics.

I asked a lady "Hey can you take a pic of Alex and me?" she said "Yes, yes, sure". And then I asked Alex, who smiled coz I was coming back to him and I asked him for the pic ha accepted with a smile and then I thanked him and he said "No, no, thank YOU, it was a pleasure" :worship:

  Mister Alex

So today I have 3 pics, the first one is Alex and me ;) :worship:

Enjoy :)

Hi all!
Unfortunately I have some bad news. Alex had surgery on one of his eye recently. Everything went ok but it seems that he has that problem again now with the other eye...
Here's an article I found:

Babelfish translation
ALEX CORRETJA SUFFERS ONE SERIOUS OCULAR INJURY

For the man run bad weather who, next to Joan Balcells, gained that double that gave first Davis to Spain. Alex Corretja, that recently had been operated of a membrane loosening in an eye, finishes undergoing the same mishap. The Catalan, champion of the Masters in 1998 (he defeated in the end to Carlos Moyá, in five historical sets) faces, then, before a serious problem facing his professional race. The relapse, while it trained, could take to the operating room and again put in prohibition its continuity. In the next days its future will be known. -

It is ages since I came over here - but just wanted to say how sad I was about the news and I hope Alex gets well soon. I had eye surgery in 2003 - I know how difficult and painful it can be - I still have probems today - so Alex has all my sympathy. Get well soon sweetie

Hi all!
I have bad news:
