Dear sfar, it's actually the psychology of these events that trouble me.
The game has enough players, so it doesn't matter if a new guy does not feel welcome and does not play the game. The game doesn't need new players. There is no forgiveness.
Yeah, some may have returned to play because I do agree, the game is fun, but since I have always been welcoming to everyone asking me questions in my threads and never punished anyone's first mistake, I don't think my place would be here, because it's extremely unfair.
You know, there have been some problems other times with picks not sent correctly (spaces between rounds and/or players, misspelled names, etc.), specially in Grand Slams where there is such a big amount of rounds. And to avoid this, it was agreed that picks sent in an uncorrect format would not be accepted.
Maybe for you as an Excel expert or even for me (I'm good with formatting texts with Notepad++), this wouldn't have been a major problem. But not everyone is an expert at doing this or does not have the time to find out what's right or wrong in a set of picks.
New players are always welcome, but as a new player you MUST read the rules before playing. I've been playing the game for a long time and I don't need to read them anymore, but I did the first time.
I really hope you give it a try after RG.
