I attended that match yesterday. Understand now why Gil colapsed on his ranking so dramatically. And according to what I saw yesterday he will colapse even more.
He has zero confidence on his game and a big lack of attitude. He ia a very different player to the one I saw two years ago in this same tournament. No strategies at all, no power at all on his shots and less consistency for a baseliner. Made an unnumber of UE in that first set and as his shots had no power at all Gabashvili had no troubles at all to trash him 6-1 on the first set. On the 2nd set he just dropped the match. The umpire asked him if he needed medical treatment and he refused. He was just waiting Gabashvili to finish that set. Gil should be punished for his attitude on court. In the way he is leading things he will fall more than where he is right now. He should take a break to find if he really wants to play tennis because it was exactly what didn't wanted to do yesterday. For Gil fans it's really something to worry about.
