According to the French media he seems unsure to be fully recovered from his knee injury, and also they say that he has a very good chance to be allowed to get in directly. Overall it seems that Mahut honestly prefers not to "stick" that wild-card in those circumstances.

They will decide who they give it to now, my favorite is De Schepper.

Re: Wild Cards

Ouanna finally got the French wild-card, probably because De Schepper had already had it last year :

Incorrect, it was speculation until 5 days ago it became official, not that it matters now of course: http://www.livetennis.it/post/125074...ahut-e-garzia/

Wildcard for Saville

http://uk.reuters.com/article/2013/0...0A813820130103

Quote:
Jan 3 (Reuters) - Reigning boys champion Luke Saville has been handed a wildcard into the men's singles draw for the Australian Open later this month, organisers said on Thursday.

The 18-year-old Australian will be making his debut in the main draw at Melbourne Park and it comes after an impressive 2012 campaign in which he improved his ranking by more than 800 places and was also runner-up at the Wimbledon boys event.

"I feel as if this is a reward for the great year I have had and all the hard work I have put into my tennis," Saville, the world number 349, said....

one week ago (not 2 actually), it had been announced officially and the news I just posted precisely says "Mahut gives the wild-card back"

Re: Wild Cards

After Kokkinakis's performance against Verdasco he will atleast get a QWC. I think he is too young to give a MD one. If he keeps improving and keeps a stable rank about 300-700 this year possible candidate for next year.

TT Tipping
Current rank - S:131 D:158
Highest rank - S:123 D:154
2013 W/L - Singles 14/8 Doubles 11/8
