Re: The Bernard Tomic Cheering Thread!

Stupid tactics from Tomic, why does he keep slicing to Dolgo's forehand? Everythime he does that he will lose the point.

He should put away the slice completely and serve volley.

Re: The Bernard Tomic Cheering Thread!

Missed chance there. Bernie steped it up and had 3 break points. Come on Bernie keep going.

Re: The Bernard Tomic Cheering Thread!

Missed opportunity to break there, but at least the 2nd set is more competitive...

Re: The Bernard Tomic Cheering Thread!

So in the Australian Open, Tomic wins in 5, but in Monaco, Tomic loses in 5.

Normally, given the players ages, Tomic should have made more improvement than Dolgopolov, yet this time he has fared slightly worse.

The difference could be...
1) Tomic is just worse on clay and Dolgopolov is not
2) Tomic is better over 5 sets relative to Dolgopolov
3) As suggested by Pat Rafter, Tomic has dropped back instead of moving ahead since the Australian Open.

Or perhaps some combination of the above?

Personally I think the issue is more that he has not continued to move ahead in the intervening months, but there have been distractions and hopefully things can now change.

Tomic only just got his first atp match win on clay 2 days ago. dolgopolov has won titles on clay. Give Tomic a break. I think he did well in taking a set off him and making the 2nd round.

Re: The Bernard Tomic Cheering Thread!

not to mention dolgopolov loves to move people around....especially tomic...given the fact that his movement on this surface is not very efficient thus far in his career. i think it was an unforetunate match up for bernie. look forward to next weeks tournament.
where is he next week btw?
