Re: Tomic on hardcourt 2013

I didn't watch the match myself but I heard ppl say Tomic was trying to be overly aggressive sometimes and leaked too many errors...was this the case? Or did he not try to take the initiative in the rallies? I'll be much more happier if he indeed did try to dictate the whole time, or was this a 2012 I don't want to compete kinda match?

Bernard Tomic
Grigor Dimitrov
Richard Gasquet
Nick Kyrgios

Re: Tomic on hardcourt 2013

I don't think there's any shame in losing to Dimitrov at all, I'm just disappointed in how Bernard played.

A match highlight video is on youtube for those who didn't see it...

Not that each time, between playing great in Australia and flying to Europe/US he tries being a playboy and gets into trouble with the law and then has legal issues clouding his thoughts.

In 2011 without legal problems he managed to play quite in Europe at Wimbledon.

This match was a Bernard Tomic who has too many things beside tennis on his mind.

Until the 3rd set this was a '2012 my mind too distracted' and then in the 3rd a 'I don't want to compete'.

You could say he tried to take the initiate- or you could say he tried to end the rally immediately, but really it was just a case of being too error prone with difficulty concentrating.

He's not and he isn't on the doubles list for next week either.

Re: Tomic on hardcourt 2013

Speaking of doubles, Bernard is entered (2nd alternate) to play with Viktor Troicki in Dubai.

But is he eligible for Marseille? From what I have seen the entry list, entries were January 7 or something when his ranking was 64 so he is 3rd alternate.

It would be a fantastic sign if he was prepared to play the qualifying draw but I am afraid I can't see it.

He will almost 100% get in. Hopfully the SE spots get cleared.
