That's not true, he beat Isner in Sydney.
I mean over 30 years old...
He actually got several easy draws in previous ATP tours.
In Delray Beach, first R: Qualifier Munoz-De La Nava, potential 2nd R: Malisse or Falla
quite an easy one. Munoz-De La Nava never won any hard court in ATP main draw before this one with Ryan, and he's over thirty.
In Memphis, first R: Kubot, who is not very good this year so far, and potential 2nd R: Qualifier Bogomolov Jr or LL Russell
hey, this is ATP 500....any better draw?
In San Jose, first R: Benjamin Becker, who Ryan defeated him once last year, and potential 2R: qualifier Sweeting or Istomin -- both are not very tough
I would say except for IW, his draws were excellent...If he had better condition, I think he might have had several quater-final/semi-final this year.
The question is not on bad luck. He really has some problems.
If I were him, I'll try to find a real coach. Tres Davis seems to be a nice guy, and seems not very helpful so far.
