Anderson is actually playing good ground game tonight for his standard, he really wants this final. Ryan is gonna have to fight as hard as he possibly can to get out of this one

Re: 2013 Cheering Thread

I thought Ryan played well tonight, but couldn't get anything going against Anderson's serve. But if he wants to compete for slams, he is going to need to figure out how to beat players like Anderson, and on a regular basis. Not a bad tournament, but I am still waiting for Ryan to make a breakthrough...

Re: 2013 Cheering Thread

Assuming he beats Hewitt, anybody think Ryan could go into the zone and beat del Potro?

Re: 2013 Cheering Thread

He's overdue for a big win. It might not be this week against del Potro, in fact it is unlikely that it will be, but it is coming.

Let's not... He had ONE decent tournament, it might be another 1 step forward 2 steps back like Kudla, who knows. If the breakthrough win comes, great. If it doesn't, well, it's not like we haven't seen the dark days.

Re: 2013 Cheering Thread

Ryan wins 6-3, 7-5. That's a quality win. I hope he puts together a good showing against DelPo.

Re: 2013 Cheering Thread

Agreed. I think this may be his first victory over a Grand Slam champ. And more evidence that he is coming out of his slump and playing with confidence again. I hope he can give del Potro a run for his money.
