Re: 2013 Cheering Thread

Might not be a bad idea. Jay Berger is a good coach who worked with many successful players in the past (if I'm not mistaken, he was the one who got Young's career on the right track (Career High) before he went back to his mom - wrong choice). Getting away from Bradenton could be good for him. Even though he is an IMG alum and there are a lot players to practice with, I don't think he gets a lot of private coaching besides from his dad. It also would do him some good to train alongside his upcoming fellow Americans, he can certainly feed off of them.

He should get Sampras or Agassi to coach him. Murray's got Lendl.

Re: 2013 Cheering Thread

maybe he should let Brad Gilbert work with him, B.G. did work with him for a week or so before Atlanta Open

Legends usually take only a proven commodity under their wing. Ryan is far from that. And besides, Lendl didn't really change anything in Murray's game. Whereas, I feel that Ryan has a lot to improve (specifically his ground game).

It is nothing new to see Gilbert going around working with different upcoming players and juniors for a couple of days. And I'm not so sure if he really wants to settle for a full time coaching position. He seems to enjoy what he is currently doing (tv commentating and scouting upcoming talents).

Re: 2013 Cheering Thread

I hope his performance against Giraldo is better than last time. Giraldo was in control of that match running Ryan side to side. All Ryan did was pushed and somehow won

Re: 2013 Cheering Thread

His competitiveness won him this match. His forehand is still atrocious. I think I need to take a break from Ryan's matches..

Re: 2013 Cheering Thread

He played reasonably well but his FH is pretty messy and could use some work.

His forehand is bad? What about his backhand?

Re: 2013 Cheering Thread

Another bad draw at Washington. Lleyton Hewitt in the first round, Del Potro in the second. Hopefully he can win tomorrow and get back into the top 100.

This might be the first time he made the SF and I haven't watched a single minute of his matches. I just don't think I can handle his tennis these days.
