Re: Washington Entry List (updated June 20, 2012)

Apart from this strange Youzhny's case, I think some of these players might not know that they could qualify to the Olympic Games, considering all of the ones who chose (Fish, Young notably) or could not go to the Olympics.

I think of Ebden, Kavcic, maybe even Matosevic.

Then maybe in the end they might go to the Olympics. Wait and see.

Re: Washington Entry List (updated June 20, 2012)

I think maybe youzhny signed up when he was struggling and qualification was questionable, but it's still odd. It would have taken a big slump to fail to make it
also, I think Young may have unexpectedly made Olympic team so long as he was open for DC, so he may be out.

Matosevic, Hanescu, Lorenzi, Kukushkin, Chiudinelli, Gulbis, Bozoljac, Gabashvili, Hernych, Brown, Garcia-Lopez, Rosol, Zeballos, Istomin, Kohlschreiber, Tursunov, Robert, Gonzalez, Monaco, Thiem, Seppi

Not really a bad list TBH, considering its lined up against Olympics, i hope they can some big wild cards like the spaniards that didn't make the cut for olympics. Maybe Feli Lopez and Florian Mayer.

It would be a rather long commute for F. Lopez to play singles in Washington while he's playing doubles at the Olympics:

Baker got a WC to main draw according to @CitiOpen

Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far you can go.

Re: Washington Entry List/Fact Sheet (updated July 23, 2012)

I hope Paul Henri Mathieu gets in. I don't think he signed up for Qualifying and is the first ALT. for main draw. He deserves a WC more than Berankis although I understand Richard is a young player trying to come back from injury. PHM's form is pretty good getting to the SF last week in Gstaad.

Re: Washington Entry List/Fact Sheet (updated July 23, 2012)

if Berankis goes a run here in LA I could see him pulling out at DC. In fact, he plays tomorrow, if he wins, he'll have to pull out I think.

Why would he pull out of a wildcard??
