Re: Qualifying Draw

ridiculously weak draw. Eric Sock is an awful player. There are names on their I have never seen before such as Luiz Iniamo,Christopher Eubanks,David Span,Jack Anton and Judd Motz.

The only wildcard that can be dangerous is Kevin King(Georgia Tech). Georgia Bulldogs Taboada and Pasha are very good college players but a little outmatched here, they are not pro level players like King is.

Re: Qualifying Draw

Seriously, they should just make it a 16-player draw. I don't even know most of these wildcards.

Re: Qualifying Draw

It wasn't surprising with Pasha but it's sad to also see King choking the match away against DeVoest. Thought he could close it out...

Re: Qualifying Draw

The qualifiers have very accessible spots in the main draw, so it should spice up all four matches which look reasonably competitive on paper with the exception of Ruben's match, which he should win.

Why not give a shot to everyone? I don't see any problem at all.

Re: Qualifying Draw

The Binghapmton challenger had a stronger qualie draw. Frank should have come down to Atlanta.

I was also disappointed in King. I actually had a thread ready to post had he won and tell of his vast improvements. Was a mediocre 3/4 player for 3 years then his senior year was a great #1 at GT.

I don't mind if it is a lower event but this is a ATP 250 . Great experience for some of them, but it is really unnecessary extra match for the seeded players.

That's probably b/c Binghampton is one of the four challengers that you can earn points toward the USO wildcard. If not for that reason, Frank and other players like Williams and Sandgren would probably be here.

Re: Qualifying Draw

jus to get an idea how weak this qualie draw was, Mbonisi Ndimande, who made the 2nd round here just lost in the first round of Futures qualies in Illinois 6-0 6-2.
