So Marcel got Viola on first round.

Re: The Marcel Granollers 2013 Season Thread

Well, hopefully they win the doubles title.

He needs to pick up form in singles somehow. I think the courts in Indian Wells and Miami suit his game perfectly, so if he can get a few singles matches under his belt before then, I'll be happy.

That would be good indeed. They are in quarterfinal now.

Re: The Marcel Granollers 2013 Season Thread

Marseille's draw is very ugly, Marcel got Monfils on the first round.
Looks like no doubles at this time.

And they lost Rotterdam semifinal against Lindstedt/Zimonjic.

Never ever give up

Lindstedt is his nemesis in Rotterdam-they lost last year too to him and his then partner Tecau.
I wonder if because he is still playing singles, he opts not to play as much doubles

Bad luck, Gael will be a strong enemy for sure and Marcel is not at his best. The best for him

Hopefully not health problems. I don't remember last time happened that Marcel played singles and not doubles, can't remember. Really..

Very hard to beat even a 'bad' Monfils on France (Gael is far away from his best too), that's my biggest problem. The French crowd.

Well Monfils is far away from his best, we'll see.

OOP is out, they won't play tomorrow.

True What I have been able to see this year when he plays singles is that his serve seems a bit off to me; he is very tentative to come to the net( almost as if he is second guessing so just a tad off) and on big points maybe gets nervous. He needs to find his groove which he does as tournies go on and he plays more. And of course most of all- confidence which is lacking. I wonder if the Davis Cup loss is an issue in his singles
