Re: Donald Young

Donald has a 0% chance of winning, but at least he will be on TV. He will extend his current losing streak to 2. I don't know if he will ever play enough ATP matches to get to 21 again, probably not.

"Donald has drawn Federer in round 1 of the US Open!"

Who does he play in the second round?

Re: Donald Young

Fed vs DY has been assigned the prime time Monday night match on Ashe Stadium. I predict Fed won't mess around with DY. 6-1,6-2,6-0. DY collects his 10 points and $23K for showing up.

Re: Donald Young

DY's US Open will not end tonight, and no, I don't think he has any chance of beating Fed. (There is a greater chance of DY being triple bageled than of DY winning.) His 2012 US Open won't end tonight because he got a men's doubles wildcard (Nick Monroe as partner) and a mixed doubles wildcard (Vavara Lepchenko as partner). I know he played with Monroe several times in Challengers. I don't know how the mixed partnership happened. I thought a Sloane Stephens partnership would be more likely.

Re: Donald Young

Fed cruises 6-3, 6-2, 6-4.

"There is pressure. Donald played well," Federer said after the match. Federer might be the most gracious person ever to pick up a racket. (http://sports.yahoo.com/news/murray-...2883--ten.html)

Check out this bad-ass slice overhead by Federer at :16. http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=8308968) I'm surprised that shot doesn't come with a left-turn signal.

Re: Donald Young

Looks like there were a ton of withdrawals from Bangkok, and DY has a direct entry into the main draw. I hope he steps up his game.

Doesn't he have like a lot of points to defend there?

Re: Donald Young

DY will lose 130 points from Bangkok. He is now #158 per Live Tennis Rankings. Furthermore, he still has 105 points to defend during the remainder of 2012. If he doesn't defend any, he will drop to around #210 by year end. Let's hope he can win a few matches.

Re: Donald Young

I would be playing the remaining 5 US Challenger events of the year if I was him. Im sure he could win 2 of them.

I wonder is he done this year or going to realize its time to go back to the Challenger circuit and gain some points.

Re: Donald Young

DY plays Yuki Bhambri tomorrow in the Beijing Qualies. Bhambri has had a good year and has really risen in the rankings. DY will have to play well to win.

He is entered in Shanghai (qualies, wk of 10/8) and Vienna (main draw, wk of 10/15). I guess he will play them. After that, I agree he should play the last three US Challenger - Charlottesville, Knoxville, and Champaign.
