I don't understand spanish but it seems like he is playing 3 matches in argentina. It seems similar to Federer's exhibition matches he played last year. I just hope its only 3 matches because he should be resting.

Nadal vs Nalbandian, Nov 21

Nadal vs Djokovic, Nov 24

He is encouraging the argentinians to assist to these matches, and also saying how much those mean for him, Djokovic and Nalbandian as well.

Re: Rafael Nadal exhibition matches?

I love these exhibitions especially when wta & atp get together. The Australian Open ones were the best one.
Oh also the Sampras/Agassi/Nadal/Federer was pretty fun too. Honestly I can't get enough of these. The DelPo vs Rafa one at MSG this year was SO MUCH fun perhaps my fav exho match (I was quite surprised actually because Rafa and DelPo aren't really known for jokes & entertainment) but it turned out excellent. Too bad they didn't let Vika & Serena play alongside Rafa&DelPo would've been more fun to watch.

BIG 4 AT GRAND SLAMS (between them):
Federer: 12-15 or 44%
Djokovic: 11-17 or 39%
Murray: 5-14 or 26%
RAFAEL NADAL: 25-7 or 78%
A true G.O.A.T owns the best of the best.

Re: Rafael Nadal exhibition matches?

oh fun!
exhibitions are for fun generally, to entertain crowds and grow the sport, players do not take them THAT seriously so no concerns really about it hurting him physically to take part

plus in the off season it keeps the pros from getting rusty

win win

<3 Roger Federer <3 David Ferrer <3 Juan Martin Del Potro <3 Ernest Gulbis <3

------------------------ <3 Richard Gasquet <3

Re: Rafael Nadal exhibition matches?

He will play the Necker Cup on Richard Branson's island.

Djokovic played last year and it looks more like a nice vacation.

_______________

He will also play against Djokovic in Chile on Nov 20 in a farewell event for Massu.

Re: Rafael Nadal exhibition matches?

He is playing a lot of exhibitions this off-season:

1) Necker Cup in the British Virgin Islands - a 4/5 day event with various pro-ams. Pretty relaxing holiday on a Caribbean island though, so not a bad move!
2) Peru - match vs Ferrer
3) Chile - match vs Djokovic (also a retirement event for Massu - Massu will play an exo vs a player to be confirmed)
4) Argentina - 2 matches vs Nalbandian; 1 match vs Djokovic
5) Abu Dhabi - Mubadala Tennis Championships at the end of the year

Plus he's playing a proper poker event in Prague in December too... So racking up the air miles!

Re: Rafael Nadal exhibition matches?

6 or so exhibitions matches isn't too bad thats the same amount Federer played last year.

Re: Rafael Nadal exhibition matches?

The exhibition matches themselves are fine, basically like a training session which Rafa would be doing instead anyway, but all the travelling can be tiring. I hope he gets some well earned home time. I assume he's been in Majorca the past three weeks? The only pic I've seen is the one of him and Toni training indoors.

14.

Agreed, I'm a bit worried about all the travel too, especially as 2014 is an absolutely critical year for him Rafa looked a little weary and flat at the WTF, he desperately needs a long break to refresh himself physically (and most importantly mentally) and put in some work on his BH and DTL FH. I hope he gets enough time to rest and returns fresh and raring to go at the AO'14
