rafa in auckland

I thought I should start an auckland thread in preparation for the tournament which starts tomorrow! It's bad because in the first round there is going to be a replay of last year's final - that is that rafa is going to play hrbarty. Might I add, a very in-form hrbarty who absolutely thrashed coria on saturday and just seems to have "clicked" in his tennis. But that said, Rafa's been playing pretty well too and the recent win in the doubles might boost his confidence!!!
In the doubles, as has been said in the other thread, Raf is playing with JC which i'm sure would be a combination that my camera would love to see!!!! they are playing fernando gonzalez (chile) and jim thomas (usa) so hopefully they can win!!!

Re: rafa in auckland

Rafa beat Roger last year so maybe he can beat Hrbaty this year?? We will see. Hope that rafa will do his best in doubles although JCF is not very good in it.
The Rafa- Tommy final will be great altough I won't have chance to see it anyway
But maybe you will do

Re: rafa in auckland

i just checked the auckland site and saw some bad news in terms of rafael - he lost the first set against hrbarty 6-3 but then retired, due to "illness" according to the auckland website. i hope it's not serious.
