Shawshank, Nadal is supposed to be practicing today from 3-5. I'll go if there isn't a good match on. Federer practices right before him so there's sure to be a huge crowd right away.

Thanks star! If yesterday was Rafa's first practice at IW, that would mean only 3 days all together of hard court practice, because now we now Rafa will play his first match on Saturday. That doesn't seem enough for Rafa... Hopefully I'm wrong!

Uhhh, let us know (if you'll be able to see anything in these crowds) about their interaction should they see each other, if they're still friendly.
Thanks!

And Rafa better not 'kill himself ie his knees' on hard courts before the important (and extremely busy) clay court season in Europe. So hopefully his knees could also survive Wimbledon. I'm not predicting anything, I just pray he will be physically fine.

Re: Indian Wells BNP Paribas, Baby! Vamos Rafa!

I went over after the Gulbis match. Of course you could hear the cheering and screaming for Rafa inside stadium 3. He was playi g a practice match with gasquet and the crowd was clearing out somewhat .

No tape on the knee.

The kids at the end got to be really obnoxious yelling for a Rafa autograph. Rafa walked over to the middle of the line up and move to his right, so it was clear the kids on the left Werent getting am autograph. That did not stop them from nonstop shouting and chanting. " Rafa! Rafa! Por favor Rafa!". Then when they realized he was actually leaving the court they all charged out to catch him on the other side as he went back to the players area. They were racing down the sidewalk dodging people and I heard an adult man call out " no running! Walk! ". He repeated it several times.

Rafa was wearing all white with a dark teal cap on backwards. He shifted it around after the practice session. White is a nice look for Rafa. I can report that his underwear was too tight and riding uo a bit.

Guys, correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember TV broadcast starting in IW on Sunday. Is it still the same? That would mean that we won't watch Rafa's first match

LOL like that would work with the swarm of kids.

“I only just saw him yesterday after my practice. I was really excited to see him again,” said Federer. “We hadn’t had much contact. I think he wanted to get away from it all, which I really understand. I was really happy to see him doing so well in Acapulco. It’s great to see him here playing on the hard courts. I’m hoping to catch up with him this week.”
Rogelina the ballerina "happy" for Rafa. Star didn't wittness their meeting probably.
Anyway, thanks for the reports!

No, I was watching a match on Stadium 3 when Federer left and Rafa appeared. The interesting thing is that I didn't hear cheers and screams from the practice court during Federer's practice, but apparently the applause I heard came at the end of Federer's practice and the beginning of Rafa's. Probably the applause was for Federer. Right after the applause there was cheering and screaming. This must have been Rafa coming on the court.

I don't think Rafa is more popular than Federer, but his fans are more respectfully worshipful. They're Catholics, and Rafa's worshipers are more like Pentacostals. Lot's of talking and calling out.

The kids were calmer yesterday. There was no yelling at Rafa. But, if I were a kid, I would figure out that Rafa signs autographs to his right and I'd get on the right side of that fence. The kids on his left are shut out.

Rafa plays tonight. I was afraid of that. It will be those kind of cold conditions that make it more difficult for Rafa. I'll have to take lots of warm things with me.
