Can't wait for your thoughts if Ernests beats Rafa and has to play Federer next. I'm sure he'll deserve it then a little more as well

I agree! It's certainly not a language for me. I kind of like that English doesn't even bother with plural you let alone all these other endings. German is bad enough for that.

From my Canadian view, French has fought to keep itself around here. I know what you mean worldwide though.

I thought it was interesting the way they said one's own language is "invading" (my word) English. Like native speakers wouldn't use "foreseen" the way the translater says he sees it being used. Maybe we'd use it ironically that way, but that's it.

I am Canadian! I know that! I also noticed that the only person who did not speak English for that interview spoke French.

As good as your English can be, if it's not your native language and you use another language on a day-to-day basis, you still have a disadvantage during negociations and such; which native speakers often underrate IMO. Fast-thinking is so much easier in your day-to-day language, no matter how at ease you are with a certain language.
Definitely.

I thought the Hungarian man made an interesting point when he said that some people don't bother to listen when you speak in a language that is not one of the big ones so he switches to English.

Reminds me of an argument I saw in the English press when the UK's deputy prime minister Nick Clegg had a meeting with the EU president Van Rompuy in Dutch. A journalist for the Telegraph (very anti-EU as a newspaper) figured that Clegg used Dutch as a tactic in meetings because Cameron doesn't speak it. and many spoke scandal of Clegg's " dirty tactics", whereas Cameron had nothing to do with it and Clegg simply likes to speak Dutch.

Clegg's Dutch is

No need to become ridiculous now. Wawa is gonna suck Rogi's dick as he always does. Pardon my language.

OMG I have to post here. I saw on the news about the 10 cm snow in Brussels. All the traffic jammed, trains not moving. We have similar weather here like over 4 months a year. Just so you can imagine.

*Senile grandma not reading back, Hilde DID mention smth about the snow this morning? * I wonder how she got home.

leave her alone, supported Gulbis for years and he is a countryman of her's, afterall would like to see how biased you'd be if Rafa was playing one of your boys X-Man or Merton.

They picked a bad time to travel to Belgium.

Shush.

When Rafa plays against Malisse, I do root for Rafa. I never go against Nadal. Ever.
I'd root against many of my countrymen and I have many times in the past, but I know that Evita is not a Gulbis bandwagon jumper. She's been a loyal fan from the start. I'm just saying that he's her n°1 boy to support visibly on MTF which is her prerogative but she doesn't give me the impression of being torn at all about picking who she'd like to win.
(I don't know why I bother explaining stuff to you, though)
But the Malisse vs Nadal matchup gives me very bad memories because I received horrible news during one of their matches. Malisse ended up beating Rafa and X had the decency to go on and win the tournament.

What's up with your Merton obsession?

You didn't watch the news properly, did you?
You're just getting on my case, aren't you?
You like being a drama queen about the weather in Estonia, don't you?
