LOL if the person designs for Lady Gaga then that was to be expected.

P.S. I wonder what Andreea thinks of the Romanian guy's Farinelli impersonation, I heard him singing. Haven't listened to the other songs really.

I liked the Belgian song! First time I heard it was last night and it's got a really catchy feel to it. Not surprised it progressed. Glad to see Netherlands finally got through as well, risky to send such a downbeat song but it worked.

Hey where is everyone? I wanted to ask Evita if she also listens to K-pop?
I tried K-pop (Korean pop) but it seems it's not my thing. I used http://seoul.fm to check it out. Usually I like pop music just fine but I didn't warm up to that style. These days I often listen to a Finnish radio while going to work.

K-pop?

Last night, I woke up because my neighbor was shouting "Tu ne penses qu'à la mort...Tu ne penses qu'à la mort...Tu ne penses qu'à la mort..." over and over.
(translated: "You only think about death")
:scared:

I could hear their little girl shouting, in an effort to get through to him, to her dad to be quiet but he kept on ranting loudly. :cuckoo:

Not much. The Rasmus, HIM... Maybe a couple more bands. I'm slowly expanding my knowledge now but I care much more about individual songs than about artists. I forget who sings it but recently I've heard the song about dancing with angels a lot.
I loved HIM. Ville Valo's voice is something!
I love Apocalyptica.

Have you ever heard of a Finnish band called Dingo, when I was a little schoolgirl we had Dingomania. Oh those were the days. :awww:

I wanted to come back and thank Evita for the link to the Castle forum and the good explanation of the finale situation :)

I tried to to it yesterday but had to wait a little bit cos I'm trying to avoid Eurovision semi spoilers and when I came I saw people talking about it :p

Until when do we need to avoid spoilers?

If you've seen the first qualification session, did you see that little contribution on why Australians love eurovision? That was nice.

Re: Rafachat - Vol. 80: It's comeback time baby!!! :rocker2:

Awww Peta! I won't be posting about Eurovision until Monday then. I try to stay offline or only on FB then anyway.
Nooo don't be silly! I hadn't even been in here for ages anyway, I have no right to expect people to avoid spoilers for me!!! I just didn't get spoilers here anyway, I saw Eurovision mentioned and ran out again yesterday (I did get spoilt on 2 countries making it through though but that was on Twitter)

and OMG Benoit just beat Delpo!!! What a great result for him :D

His old luscious hair! :awww: :tears: :sobbing:

SPOILER ALERT TO PETA!!
Andreea, I need to know what you think of your famous contratenor at Eurovison.
Greece was one of the most horrible IMO and got to the final! :help: :help:

Eurovision Spoilers ahead

I forgot the greek song as soon as the next one came along but I remember the act. I figure that this is what got them through.

Romania (or, as the one of the commentators on the BBC said: "putting mania in to Romania") was hysterical. Granted, the man has an incredible voice. Just looking at how flexible his vocal cords must be: :worship:
I don't find it pleasing on my ears at all, but it's also a memorable act so in that sense, I'm glad it's through. This is what eurovision is about IMO. It's not about song quality and artistic value but eurovision is supposed to be fun. Romania had an entertaining act to watch.

The box act: some people argued: remove the box and the song is instantly forgettable. I'd agree with that, but the box act was great.

Switzerland had a puzzling act. To me, it felt as if they were doing a rehearsal and they were still trying to tweak it, they'd still have to figure out the outfits and what to do on stage. It felt unfinished.

From what I've seen of the German act: that's a clear rip-off of the winning song last year. Even the song titles match: Glorious (compared with last year's winner "Euphoria").

Finally, the dress of the host of the show. :help: :help: What a monstrosity!

I stayed away to avoid spoilers so It's ok. This is the window that I can be spoiler free cos I've seen all the semis and the final hasn't been on yet :)

I LOVED Azerbaijan with their 'box act' song. The box act was amazing but I really enjoyed the song too (and :hearts: he was lovely to look at too).

Romania's sound is just NOT the kind of singing I enjoy but yes the act was fun.

I really liked the Belgian entry but I saw another of his songs from the pre-selection, one he did in French and I preferred that to the one that is in the final. I'm still glad the song went through :)

Favourites at this stage are Azerbaijan, Belgium, Denmark and Ukraine I think.

Tomorrow I will be not on the internet all day til it's been on TV here so no worry of posting spoilers ;)

But we'd need Andreea the opera expert's take on this, the Romanian song. Of course it stood out.

Yep sorry Evita, your boys weren't kinda memorable enough.  You can cheer for Lithuania or Estonia on Saturday. ;) I didn't like the Finnish song.

Nigel Farage flees barrage of abuse from Edingburgh protesters

Scotland :worship:

Farage was first forced out of the Canon's Gait pub on the Royal Mile after the landlord took fright as the demonstrators disrupted his casual press conference with shouts of "racist", "scum" and "homophobe"?

Then, finally, the harassed and ill-prepared handful of officers were forced to push him back into the Canon's Gait, slamming its front doors shut, as the demonstrators chanted: "Nigel, you're a bawbag, Nigel you're a bawbag, na, na, na, hey!" with gusto.
:inlove:

Farage is nothing but a dumbass so I'm glad some see through him.
