Many people on MTF protested because of "freedom of speech" (as if that isn't limited in the real world, as if the real world doesn't have rules on what you can do and say
...the viewpoint by the clowns: "if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen" or translated: "either join us with our funny insults or get out". Heaven forbid they'd have to think before they write, poor things.
) and the danger of inconsistency and subjectivity (who is going to decide what's insulting or not? Fair point).
Result: that rule was withdrawn and the moderators, fed up with the insults and accusations going their way, became more lenient than ever before.
