Hilde! :hatoff:

Most probably. We all know what happened when I dared to think that naaah, he won't lose the 4th rd to Söderling of all people yet at RG 2009 (whom he had just trashed in Rome a few weeks before).   But that's me and my thoughts. :D

Just made it, let see if I'm good luck.
VAMOS!!!!!!! :bounce: :bigclap: :cheerleader:
I think I did some threads last year and they turned out OK but I'm not willing to push my luck again just yet. :tape:

There's an article in my newspaper today (De Morgen) on Latvia joining the euro area.

Title: "Latvia, home of crime money"

There are lots of questions on the Latvian bank sector. The original plan was to create some sort of Swiss system in Latvia, building a bridge from E-Europe to London and Frankfurt (the financial headquarters of Europe).
This has attracted a lot of dirty money and there are quite a few questions on how the Latvian bank system is being controlled.

Half of the money parked in Latvian banks comes from outside Latvia and a great deal of that foreign money is crime money.

On the bright side, due to entering the euro zone, the European Central Bank will put the Latvian bank sector to a stress test and it will get a stern control system + the Latvian bank world is not so big compared to the entire Latvian economy so should anything go wrong, it won't have a dramatic impact (like what happened in Greece).

----
A colleague of mine on Schumacer:
"I have zero sympathy for the man. He had it coming. Will teach him a lesson for not following the rules. He deserves it."
---> Needless to say that this was followed by a quick talking to from me. Esp. the "he deserves it" got me going. Saying "it's his fault" is one thing but saying that he deserves it, is quite another.
He added: "It's on the news, it's everywhere....just because he's a celebrity, I'm supposed to care?"
Me: No, but it's not because he's a celebrity that you have to be a jerk about it. He deserves it????

An idiot on my twitter TL "Michael Schumacher is the new Kate Middleton, subject of media frenzy" :tape:

Except, you know, he's not famous because he's married. :stupid: And that coming from a fervent monarchist

That, and the fact that people don't want to know what he's wearing on this particular occasion

Unfollowed him immediately

I think so too.
You already went through the bank crisis in 2008 when the Parex Bank was taken over by the state, no? I've heard that now the Latvian banks are in better shape and not so full of the Russian criminal money.

Anyway, let us know how the first euro days are going. You have more 'normal' exchange rate but here many people spent all their first money in euros and needed social services to help them afterwards, adult people but hey, I do idioitic things too, including with my money so I'm hardly the one to judge. :tape:

I didn't see the whole match and missed the end but Rafa beat Peter Gojowczyk 4-6 6-2 6-3. He had a bad start with 0-3 and losing the first set but that's Rafa & the experience for you.
I bet the hatas are fuming in GM again.

Final tomorrow, VAMOS! :bounce: :bigclap: :cheerleader: :cheerleader:

Australian Open comes but precisely zero excitement for me. No challenge appears for the top dogs. :( Not even the possibility of Dokovic losing excites me.

But not all is lost, Wjik aan Zee about to start at the same time :bounce: :D. Much more exciting, even without Carlsen, Kramnik, Anand.

Wijk aan Zee sounds riveting.

I get up around the same time: my radio starts playing at 6:30 but I'll get up at 6:40 when the annoying bleep-bleep-bleep-bleep alarm clock on the other side of the room starts playing.

Depending on the trains, I'll start between 8 and 8:30 (flexible hours as well) and I return home betwee 4:30 to 4. (most of the time, I get out at 4:40 to catch the 5 o'clock train)

Waking up at 6.50, in 15 minutes I wash myself, dress, and fix Petru's breakfast. The rest of 45 minutes until I leave home are spent waiting for His Kidiness to wash, eat and dress  7 times in 10 we succeed in being late  1 in 10 we have to come back because the love of my life still has his slippers on :help:
I also have a flexible program but, as I have to drop Petru at school, I'm usually at 8.00 at work. I leave between 4 and 4.30 if nothing happens like a special shipment or a deadline order or stuff
