Looks like he really is working hard on his backhand. Needs to improve it if he wants to beat Nole and it seems like he will. Nole is pushing Rafa over the bar. 2012 is his

Re: Rafa working really hard on his backhand.

Hmm.. I thought his BH was weak because of movement and poor court position. In some of those rallies he was way behind the baseline and neither his FH or BH has any venom.

Novak OTOH was aggressive and on the baseline.

Re: Rafa working really hard on his backhand.

Expect to see more topspin as he didn't use enough already.

Though he could work on hitting it flat as a pancake in practice, when it comes to the match he'll revert back to form. Form being Novaks bitch.

Needs to use dummies with Noles face painted on for target practice. Just might have a chance if he practices aiming for the correct spots.

So someone recently informed me that my sig was empty. Said I needed a life affirming motivational quote by a positive role model like Einstein or Oscar Wilde...

Great tip to stay fit and mobile: If you run up and down the stairs two steps at a time at least once daily, there will never come a time when you can't do it. Until of course one day you mistime a step, collapse and break all your bones... That would suck. But you had a good run.

Re: Rafa working really hard on his backhand.

Nadal is a lock for every grand slam final.

That is the easy part.

Whether or not he can beat Djokovic in the final is a bit harder, but I suspect he will just use the off-season to bulk up his upper and lower body, improve his maximum top-speed, max squat and deadlift, first step quickness, vertical jump height, bench press and weighted chin up and anaerobic capacity and V02 max, come back and smash the djoker.

Tennis players need o train more like weightlifters and (American) football players imo. They'd get much more athletic and fast.

Nadull's forum... on second thought not even there. Of course he's working on his weaker side, that's what all the pro players do when they're not playing a tournament. What do you think Fed, Djokovic and Murray wiil do next week? go home eat pizza and watch dr. House while the YEC is coming?
