Choose your thread starter wisely and determine Rafa's fate in 2009!

Last year's experience has shown that the Rafa's fate in tournaments is almost entirely dependent on who starts the thread here. As a Rafa fan, this is probably the most important decision you will make. So choose wisely and reap the benefits!

For the newbies, some info from last year.

1) I was the greatest thread starter of 2008 and was single-handedly responsible for Rafa's 2008. So me.

2) I have included l_mac in the poll options but consider that she started Doha and we all know how that turned out.

This is serious business. I need to think about it at length...

Bear in mind that WG is a Fedtard this January. (I'm assuming JM was included for comic relief)

Thank you Metis for that valuable tip. Voters please strike out WG from your lists. As for JM, I included him due to the strong conviction that deep inside he's really a Rafatard.

Can't think right now, I'm watching Pride&Prejudice on YT and my brain is stucked on Collin Firth ass
This is too important to take a hasty decision

I understand that this is not an easy decision to make. That's why I have given you four days to come up with a name. However, that time is intended to be used wisely for deep reflection and introspection. Otherwise you maybe left with:retard: and

Didn't l_mac start the Rome thread last year?

Life is boring without (Rafa's) fist-pumping.

Introspection might be a proper word when I'm looking at Colin Firth

If your point is that she is not very good at starting successful tournament threads, I understand

Re: Choose your thread starter wisely and determine Rafa's fate in 2009!

Only 3 or 4 of the posters listed have started tournament theads before. There are 2 options:

1) Be adventurous and pick one of the newbies. I suggest we consult astrological charts to determine who will be the luckiest this month.

2) Pick the most successful of the veterans. The scientific way to go about it would be to grade the performance of each veteran in every tournament (in which he/she started the thread) according to the round Rafa reached, then tally the grades.

I recommend Option 1. It is time the newbies stepped up to take some responsibilities not just enjoy the benefits of Rafa's success.

But the newbies do not know how thread-starting goes? For sure there are *unwritten* rules here in the Rafa forum.

Re: Choose your thread starter wisely and determine Rafa's fate in 2009!

Yes, there are unwritten forum rules. The thread title needs to be changed daily to reflect Rafa's progress. The thread starter MUST be a Rafa forum Regular.

I have no interest in starting the AO thread. I did it last year and annoyed people with my thread titles. (Tho I was so right about Tsonga)

Why is Claire not on the list?

My own vote would go to Adam but Hema has seen fit not to include him.

My preference would be:

1. Adam
2. Andreea
3. Maria

Or, even better, Ania. But she never comes to MTF now
