Rafa is really the next Borg:ras: loses the SF to Murray- Great tournament still !!

Well the moment of truth will be upon us shortly. Will this be the end of my thread starting career? Will I ever be called upon to shoulder this responsibility again? Exciting times ahead at the USOpen. Wait and watch.

Note: Realisitic expectations are called for here. Rafa should be expected to make the semi-final. Any lower and off with my head Without a win for Rafa here, I will cease my thread starting, however

Note 2: Credit to WG for the thread title

Edit: Rafa makes first USOpen semi. At this point, I consider my thread starting a success. However, I still strive on diligently pursuing a win for Rafa here

Finally a thread!

I sense his draw will be awful. Isner 1st round, Gonzo in the 3rd round, Delpo 4th, Denko in the QF, Nole in the semis.

Put me down for the big WIN, Metis. I don't need to see no stinking draw...

The final. He won't draw Djokovic. #1s get cakewalk draws.

Unless that was just when it came to Federer of course...

I hope del potro will be drawn to play nole sooner than rafa! a first round encounter with isner also won't be much of a tough match IMHO...

VAMOS RAFA!

Wow a US Open thread. Never thought the excitement of seeing a tournament thread could make me concerned about embarrassing myself.

I'd much rather be safe than sorry - Rafa for winner!

VAMOS RAFA ***VAMOS RAFA*** VAMOS RAFA

Last slam in the cometition, last chance to score big! Will we get a new front runner or will the current leaders secure an even bigger advantage over the rest of the field? Stay tuned!

Well for me Del Potro hasn't been that convincing. The only Top 10 player he beat in his winning streak is Roddick. And Roddick is NOT deserving of his Top 10 position.

Re: Trying to go where no Borg has gone before-Rafael Nadal at the US Open

Just put me down for a win please Metis. For the first time I think it's possible for him the win a hard court slam, might as well happen now.

Rather lose the MIT by being optimistic and some other nonsense ...

I would LOVE to see Del Porto with an early match against Novack. Oh, with Del Porto's self belief right now it could work out perfectly.
