Re: Week 17 : Savannah (Entry List)

If Odesnik gets that WC I`ll be sick. Thats 28k just for flying to Paris and getting destroyed by a real player

Re: Week 17 : Savannah (Entry List)

young seems to be alive for this WC

odesnik stories
Young was alive, till he lost today. He got 29 pts for the semis so the max he can get is 109 pts.

Odesnik is still alive but he would have to out-perform Kuznetsov by 46 pts next week. Kuznetsov has 120 pts cause he got 5 extra for coming thru qualies. So, basically Odesnik has to reach at least the finals while Kuznetsov loses 1st rd.

If Kuznetsov makes it to the 2nd rd then Odesnik has to win the tournament and Kuznetsov cant make it past the semis.

Just checked the draw and Kuznetsov plays Jack Sock 1st rd, so it should be a tough match for both.

Re: Week 17 : Savannah (Entry List)

RRH played much better yesterday but Kuznetsov sucked so much on return  There were some great dropshots from him in the first 2 sets.Kuznetsov is a mediocre player and not top 100 level but amazing how RRH is still able to grind out matches like the one against Daniel and then beating the in form player.

What is the exact surface they're playing on, some kind of artificial clay?

It's typical american green clay Har-Tru http://hartru.com/har-tru-surfaces/green-clay

EDIT: Wikipedia: Green clay, Har-Tru or "American" clay, is similar to red clay, the differences being that it is crushed basalt rather than brick, making the surface slightly harder and faster. Green clay is packed to make the subsurface. It is then covered with a topping. These clay courts can be found in all 50 of the United States but are located primarily in the Eastern and Southern states...

Re: Week 17 : Savannah (Entry List)

sapelee, who will win the american wc? =P
The race is down to Kuznetsov and Odesnik. The best two results of the 3 events are used so Kuznetsov is in the lead with 115 points. The only way Odesnik can get the wildcard is to win Tallahassee and for Alex to lose before the final (the maximum points he can earn is 140, 60 points from Sarasota + 80 points if he wins Tallahassee). I think it is safe to say that Kuznetsov will get the wildcard.

Re: Week 17 : Savannah (Entry List)

Sad that Arguello lost, but I really like Ryan Harrison, so i'm happy for him. What I could do is help Facu with his English, since I speak both. For those wondering, he just said thanks to everyone, it's a great tournament, thanks to the volunteers, and to his fitness trainer Esteban Perez who is here with him these few weeks in the US. Then he finally congratulated Ryan.
