Re: Qualifying Draw

Kudryavtsev must be joking....

Bachinger-Bemelmans should be interesting, i dont think Bemelmans is a good hc player but bachinger doesnt have any form... what you think about this one Filo?

Miami is even slower then Indian Wells,no?

Re: Qualifying Draw

Kudry I'm guessing tanked the Sarajevo SF to get here. Or, he's actually carrying an injury and will lose easily here. Could be either. We'll see. I don't think he'd beat ERV regardless.

Bemelmans should beat Bachinger based on form. I think these courts don't really suit either but Bemelmans does everything better than Bachinger outside of consistency from the baseline and backhands, and even these things Bachinger has been struggling with.

Miami is heavier than Indian Wells, the courts are naturally quicker but the balls are heavy and hard due to humidity. So it's difficult to hit through the courts in Miami. The ball bounce is less than Indian Wells but is still quite high.

Re: Qualifying Draw

Who I want to qualify: Golubev, don't care at all about the second section as long as Kamke doesn't qualify, Garcia-Lopez, Gabashvili, Paire, Bautista-Agut, Zeballos, Andreev, Dancevic, Bubka, Serra, Russell (with Bolelli and Phau getting LL positions.)

Who I expect to qualify: Golubev, Zemlja, Garcia-Lopez, Gabashvili, Zopp, Bautista-Agut, Zeballos, Elias, Dancevic, Dutra Da Silva, Serra, Phau

Re: Qualifying Draw

Some very tough matches here,Paire should destroy Kuznetsov,Golubev shouldnt have problems with Ward as well...
Evans lost his last 2 matches in horrible style, should not have a chance against Phau, cant understand he doesnt defend his SF @ Bath...

Re: Qualifying Draw

Evans I think is an IMG player so that's why he's here. Phau should take Evans out comfortably if he's playing well. They have somewhat similar games but Bjorn is significantly more powerful and faster.

I'm extremely split on Delic-Bolelli and Zeballos-Rufin. Those matches could go either way. Sugita-Odesnik, I can see the Japanese pulling off the upset there. Goffin-Zopp is a good up-and-comer match but Goffin hasn't played much recently with injury, and Zopp should win comfortably since these courts suit his game more. Smyczek-Russell is a rematch from Indian Wells qualifying. Smyczek retired injured from Dallas this past week. Russell is in bad form and just changed racquets, so that match is up in the air.

Chuidinelli-Ilhan is another 50-50 match. The Swiss is in better form, and although the courts suit Ilhan more, Chuidinelli can overpower Ilhan if he's hitting the ball well. Elias-Capdeville will be another match I have my eye on. Elias is an IMG player, he should have confidence here but Capdeville will have crowd support. Elias has more weapons but Capdeville can grind down Elias, IMO.

Re: Qualifying Draw

What injury does Goffin have?
Smyczek didn't retire from Dallas. He wasn't even there.

Re: Qualifying Draw

How serious is Odesnik's injury?

Also, I'm looking forward to see how Bagnis does on HC, hopefully he can get a win or two, even more because he plays Prodon who is in a poor form.

Re: Qualifying Draw

Yeah, these courts are much slower, and they're both claycourters with one of them being in a decent form, and it's Bagnis

Re: Qualifying Draw

Wayne was sick, not injured, so he should be fine here. Goffin I read had some sort of arm issue a while ago, so I guess arm/wrist situation, but he hasn't played in almost a month so he should be fine, I think he also probably wanted to rest/train since he played basically every week to start the season.

Bagnis' record on HC in challengers/futures do not suggest he'll be competitive here. But I've seen Prodon on HC and he can't move on it, plus his BH is more easily exposed. Bagnis actually I think is the favorite in that match. And I wouldn't be too shocked to see him qualify, especially if he plays Zeballos.

Arno has been off for a while and has a bad record in Miami. He's won two matches the past five seasons in Miami. Andreev also leads the H2H 2-0 and has had good performances in Miami so the advantages are completely in favor of the Russian.
