So I've never followed anyone from this age before, I know he's doing very well at this age, however from what I've seen he's only really played on clay in the past year. Is this a problem? Or is this normal, will he eventually be playing on other surfaces.
Tennis Canada does seem to favour taking the kids on clay tours to make up for the lack of red clay courts in Canada. But his clay heavy schedule is also an accident of some injuries he had during the HC season. And There's really only two or three grass court tournaments for juniors and his ranking was still building up to get into those before Wimbledon.
I just hope he can avoid serious injuries in this big learning period the next few years.
