Re: Canadian players

Frank is the 2nd ALT in Chennai and the 7th ALT in Brisbane both with his PR. He will probably get DE into Chennai one would think. I'd be shocked if 2 people didn't withdraw.

Milos is the 18th ALT in Chennai, 22nd in Doha, and 24th in Brisbane. I highly doubt he'll get DE into either but by the looks of it he'll probably try to qualify in one of them

Peter is the 42nd ALT in Brisbane

Frank is the 68th ALT in Brisbane, 54th ALT in Chennai with his real ranking

Bester is the 70th ALT in Brisbane, 56th ALT in Chennai, and 59th ALT in Doha

Re: Canadian players

Congrats to Dan
So glad they could end the partnership like this.

Didn't Nestor and Knowles win YEC the year they split too?

Re: Canadian players

Peliwo has a decent draw in the Eddie Herr Championship. He needs at least 3rd round to gain any points, but he won't have to play a top 7 seed for a while. First round vs 9. Mate Pelic, then an unseeded, and then most likely 8. Liam Broady. I can see him getting into the quarter finals here, but its also possible he loses first round. Trkulja and Monette are playing the U-16 Eddie Herr, which Peliwo could also be playing.

Re: Canadian players

Here's a video I found of Filip Peliwo hitting at the Pan Am. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xreIbN8FB-g
He still has a very junior game, so I can't imagine him playing futures any time soon, and if you don't get what I mean by that, let's compare his hitting to Christian Harrison, who's the same age. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLEPsZ_8xj8

Re: Canadian players

Peliwo lost first round... tough loss, hopefully he gets a better draw for Orange Bowl, if he decides to play U-18, because he could probably win the u-16 tournament.

Re: Canadian players

And Krainik and Rotaru both lost in the last round of qualifying, and both missed out on the 2 LL spots.

Just a side question, how does a Junior Exempt work, because I see Herbert got one for that Futures even though he's born in 1991 and not a junior, couldn't Krainik apply for one?

Re: Canadian players

About the Junior Exempt, it is only for juniors who finished in the top 10 the previous year so Krainik would not be eligible.

Quote:
Boys' Junior Exempt Project

The ITF announced the launch of a Boys' Junior Exempt Project in December 2006. The ITF Men's Circuit Committee agreed to implement the project on the 2007 ITF Men's Circuit, with the top ten players each receiving a junior exempt position into the main draw of three selected ITF Futures events offering prize money of up to $15,000 (plus hospitality).

The number 1 and 2 ranked players can enter three (3) Futures events offering up to $15,000+H in prize money; players ranked 3-5 can enter three (3) events offering up to $15,000 in prize money; and players ranked 6-10 can enter three (3) Futures events offering up to $10,000 in prize money.
