Re: Canadian players

Bester once again into the finals of a Futures event! Could it be possible to have 5 players make the AO Qualies? I think it might be a far stretch for Vasek and Philip and I think Frank has to win a few if he wants to be comfortably in.

Re: Canadian players

does Frank have any PR's left? Maybe he could use one of the(if he has any left) to get into AO qualies if he doesn't get in via his rank

Re: Canadian players

i said a long time ago that we could have 5 players to play qualies but no one said anything about it so i assumed everyone thougt i was nuts

realistically with the proper draws we could have frank, philip, milos and peter qualify

i really dont think that vasek would though

Re: Canadian players

So Nguyen is the only Canadian playing in the Yucatan World Cup. Peliwo I guess is resting up for Eddie Herr and the Orange Bowl. Nguyen will probably play 5th seed Bourgue in the second round, but from what I've seen Bourgue's ranking is way too high, after he got embarrassed by a bunch of no names in the Junior Davis Cup. But we'll see what happens.

Re: Canadian players

And Krainik lost in the last round of futures qualifying again. No bagels this time though.

Re: Canadian players

Frank really has the best possible draw in Helsinki. Getting by Dupuis should be a no-brainer. After that, Bolelli hasnt exactly been playing top tennis of late, and Kunitsyn is erratic enough that a solid Frank should win that. I'm looking for him to finish the season strong there

Rotaru is still in the last stage of qualifying in DR, but has a tough match.

I really hoped he saved one. If he isnt seeded, with his luck he'll get Nishikori or whoever is the number 1 seed in the first round

Even with a PR he won't be seeded.

Re: Canadian players

Erik is in Australia again this week, unseeded though, pretty easy match against Sean Berman and then probably against the top seed, Rieschick, but he did beat him a few weeks ago.

Pretty easy may be over doing, Sean Berman was a junior finalist at the Australian Open, so he's definitely someone you shouldn't take lightly in the tournament

When's the last time Erik lost to a player with a ranking lower than him?

Phillip Simmonds (career high 219)
Ervilng Tvait (career high 484)

Those are the two players ranked lower than him that have beaten him this year and one of them, Simmonds is coming off an injury

Well his ranking is low, but that's only because he's just stopped playing juniors. He's got potential to do a lot better than Chvojka. Chvojka very well may win this match, I'm just saying it won't be as easy as you think.
